Anyone remember this great little show? How come Lassie does not have a forum of her own?

I remember watching the show when I was a kid, but like alot of other shows, I haven't seen it in years. I did like it though.

The Timmy years were very good.I could have sworn TV Land aired this show either on a marathon a couple of years ago or on it's daily programming years ago.
Would anyone happen to have a good amount of Timmy and Lassie episodes?

Lassie was a staple in our house. I would definitely watch it if it came on again. Ruth and Paul Martin were great (adoptive) parents and the stories were good.

I had forgotten that Cloris Leachman was the original Ruth Martin before June Lockhart took over.

Timmy and Lassie are now my least favorite episodes. In fact I don't watch them. But I like Jeff, Gramps and Ellen and Lassie with the forest ranger are really good, most of the time

I have just started watching the show. I enjoy the Timmy episodes - he seemed sweeter than Jeff, and I preferred Uncle Petrie to Gramps.

I also like the Timmy shows better. Although there is a rare Jeff episode with Hugh Beaumont which is in color.

There is also a movie from 1963 with Provost. The TV episodes, split into 5 parts, were called The Journey. It involves Timmy and Lassie being trapped in a hot air balloon. The movie is in color and is available on DVD (as is the only Jeff episode in color).

I really don't like the series after the Timmy years. It seems aimless with that ranger Cory, and then she's just kind of wandering on her own.

I should look for that TV movie. BTW, tomorrow marks the 65th anniversary of the Lassie TV show.

This is the one that includes Hugh Beaumont in the color episode:

Lassie did not come into her own until she got off the farm. The Ranger years are my favorite because of the varied locales and the varied stories not to mention all the guest stars.

No doubt Jeff was a whiner and not much of an actor but I prefer him to syrup Timmy. As for Uncle Petrie...he struck me as a clownish Gramps knock off.

Porky was a better actor then Jeff

You have a point about the scenery. It's great, esp. in color. I missed the ones with the guest stars.

I liked Jan Clayton and the old guy was OK. I think the Cully character (Andy Clyde) was pretty good too in Timmy years. I don't recall him in many episodes though.

I do think Provost was a better actor than the other kid. They got more years out of Provost because he was so young when he started.

Maybe but it was mostly IMO because Jon stayed short and cute

I noticed a minor continuity-type error, I guess you could call it, in a 1958 episode (Season 5, Ep. 13), "The Bundle from Britain." A boy named Robin is visiting from England. Timmy has placed a crudely-made welcome sign on the wall with backwards letter E's, sort of like this:

W3LCOM3

After we see the sign in the background, suddenly, in a closer shot, correct lettering appears:

WELCOME

Pretty minor, but certainly noticeable.
