I remember it was hosted by Mac Davis, and pretented that the Clampetts, Mr. Drysdale and Miss Hathaway were real people; and it told what the've been up to since the show ended. It said that Jethro's gotten married, had some kids, and is now a doctor, Elly may's living in a ranch house in California? and does something with animals (I forget what). And Jed split all his money between Jethro and Elly, then moved back to "the hills" (I forget what they said he does). They also had "interviews" with them. And they said that Miss Hathaway turned in Mr. Drysdale for attemting to bilk the Clampetts and some other people out of their money and he's now in prison; and she's in the witness protection program. Scoobiedoo30 07-18-2007, 02:43 AM I wish I could remember this special treky 07-18-2007, 02:56 AM as I recall; it was pretty good. Oh; I forgot something. They also had G. Gordon Liddy on (he was one of the guys that was responsible for that whole Watergate mess in Washington, D.C. in the 70s) and he was saying that Jethro was one of the guys who broke into the hotel, and was responsible for them getting caught.  McGillicuddy 02-01-2009, 01:20 AM Good news! The Legend of the Beverly Hillbillies is one of the "extras" on the upcoming Dvd third season release. catlover79 02-01-2009, 01:23 AM Good news! The Legend of the Beverly Hillbillies is one of the "extras" on the upcoming Dvd third season release. Awesome - thanks for posting this!! :D treky 02-01-2009, 02:48 AM great! So far, the DVD is sounding like they'll surprise us again, and do a good job on it, like last time! However, I'm not holding my breath, since this is Paramount/CBS we're talking about. richieonline 02-01-2009, 09:26 PM best buy here i come!! ethelmaepotter 02-19-2009, 07:44 PM The Legend of the Beverly Hillbillies was kinda silly. Marvo301 02-19-2009, 08:15 PM Good news! The Legend of the Beverly Hillbillies is one of the "extras" on the upcoming Dvd third season release. Weelllllllll doggies!!! catlover79 02-20-2009, 01:54 AM as I recall; it was pretty good. Yes, I remember that. richieonline 02-20-2009, 09:04 PM Just watched it as an extra on the Season 3 dvd set. I remember thinking it was silly at the time but now having watched it again I don't think it was that bad. The one glaring thing though is the missed opportunity to have all three surviving cast members (at the time) to reunite with the exception of the very end when they are standing with each other waving.... That I don't understand!!! comedyfreak 02-21-2009, 09:06 AM What would make a nice extra is the reunion they did on Jerry Springer. They had Max Baer, Donna Douglas, Buddy Ebsen, and Louis Nye. It's on 3 parts on Youtube. McGillicuddy 02-21-2009, 06:30 PM OoooH, NEVER KNEW OF THAT REUNION, I'LL HAVE TO CHECK IT OUT !!!! richieonline 02-22-2009, 01:30 PM I agree that would be a great bonus!! They have plenty of seasons left that they could put it on. If they intend to release all of the seasons I'm sure they will have to stretch their bonus material out. By the way I have the Jerry Springer episodes via youtube on my Beverly Hillbillies fansite if anyone wants to view it, it's in stored in the "VAULT" page. McGillicuddy 02-22-2009, 06:15 PM I just watched it on Youtube! I wish they had given Jed and Elly as much time as Jethro, but it was great to see the three of them together. They could have done without Louis Nye, since he kind of went off in another direction from "The Beverly Hillbillies". I wish this was a 2 part show, but hey atleast it happened! |
