My copy is very poor quality, but at the end of the program a phone number is given to purchase the program from CBS/Columbia House video. It's likely that the video is out of print but you might see one on ebay or amazon.com

I remember that special! it aired when that HORRIBLE, AWFUL BH movie came out.

I remember it was hosted by Mac Davis, and pretented that the Clampetts, Mr. Drysdale and Miss Hathaway were real people; and it told what the've been up to since the show ended. It said that Jethro's gotten married, had some kids, and is now a doctor, Elly may's living in a ranch house in California? and does something with animals (I forget what). And Jed split all his money between Jethro and Elly, then moved back to "the hills" (I forget what they said he does). They also had "interviews" with them.
And they said that Miss Hathaway turned in Mr. Drysdale for attemting to bilk the Clampetts and some other people out of their money and he's now in prison; and she's in the witness protection program.

as I recall; it was pretty good.

Oh; I forgot something. They also had G. Gordon Liddy on (he was one of the guys that was responsible for that whole Watergate mess in Washington, D.C. in the 70s) and he was saying that Jethro was one of the guys who broke into the hotel, and was responsible for them getting caught.

Good news! The Legend of the Beverly Hillbillies is one of the "extras" on the upcoming Dvd third season release.

great! So far, the DVD is sounding like they'll surprise us again, and do a good job on it, like last time!

However, I'm not holding my breath, since this is Paramount/CBS we're talking about.

Just watched it as an extra on the Season 3 dvd set. I remember thinking it was silly at the time but now having watched it again I don't think it was that bad. The one glaring thing though is the missed opportunity to have all three surviving cast members (at the time) to reunite with the exception of the very end when they are standing with each other waving.... That I don't understand!!!

What would make a nice extra is the reunion they did on Jerry Springer. They had Max Baer, Donna Douglas, Buddy Ebsen, and Louis Nye. It's on 3 parts on Youtube.

I agree that would be a great bonus!! They have plenty of seasons left that they could put it on. If they intend to release all of the seasons I'm sure they will have to stretch their bonus material out.

By the way I have the Jerry Springer episodes via youtube on my Beverly Hillbillies fansite if anyone wants to view it, it's in stored in the "VAULT" page.

I just watched it on Youtube! I wish they had given Jed and Elly as much time as Jethro, but it was great to see the three of them together. They could have done without Louis Nye, since he kind of went off in another direction from "The Beverly Hillbillies". I wish this was a 2 part show, but hey atleast it happened!
