I just found out about an hour ago, that my mom is going in to have a lump removed from her breast..SIGH!; my mom has been through a lot of health crisis over the years; started with a mild stroke that she had back in 2002, and surgery on her bladder to remove tumors, etc..(back in 2006); she is a wonderful woman, a very strong woman, but I am about to fall a part, emotionally, so, please keep my mom in your thoughts...

thanks

I am so sorry to hear about your mom Tara, she will most definitely be in my prayers!! :( I was actually just about to write you an email asking you to pray for my mom as well, because she went in for a mamogram last week, and this morning the doctor called her and said they found something, so she's going to be going in for more tests tomorrow. Hopefully the prognosis will be good. I just want you to know though that you're not alone, and that I'll be praying my heart out for you and your mom. God will take good care of her during this difficult time.

Oh so sorry to hear the sad news tara, my prayers are with you and your family

My mom has suffered a lot in the last few years; last summer, she actually had tumors removed from her bladder and she was in the hospital for a couple of days. I literally was an emotional wreck, too. I had lost a lot of weight, and looked like hell; to say, that I am not stressed about her health crisis in an understatement. It especially breaks my heart, because it really effects my dad; she has been the only love of his life for over 40 years. I have put everything in my life on the back burner because of my parents, things like being married and having my own children, because, I just do not feel comfortable enough of having my mom and dad to be alone.

So, if you guys wonder why I am such a loon, now you know; yes, it has been difficult, to say the least.
You are definitely not a loon Tara. A loving child does what they can for their parents. Putting your parents and family first is what makes you and anyone else special. A child who doesn't think or worry abt their parents is not a loving child. You have obviously shown how much your parents mean to you and that is so wonderful. I am sure when the time is right, you will be blessed with such a loving bond by a man who sees the beauty in you, not just your physical beauty but your charm and personality. God will surely bless you for the respect and love you have shown towards your mom. I know God will protect her and ease your pain as well. Ask God to let you put your burdens on His shoulders and he will help you.

My mom had a small lump removed 4 years ago and she is doing fine. It came at a stressful time for me. My dad passed on 3 months earlier, I was out of a job. But it was meant to be. I took her to her appointments and treatments. My thoughts and prayers are with your mom and your family.

Your mother is very strong and I have faith that she's gonna pull through. You're also a very strong woman, Tara. God's watching over all of you.

You're very welcome, my wild and crazy California sister! :) (You are not a loon!)

Do they have the results back yet Tara and Mel? Please keep us posted.

Please try not to worry too much if you haven't got the results back yet. I know exactly what you're going through. Went through it myself with my mother - many breasts lump scares (all were just cysts), several cancer scares (lung and cervical - she had to have a hysterectomy), 40% of her stomach removed due to a cancerous lesion, Crohn's Disease, COPD and emphasema (sp?) - you name it. It actually brought my health down the years I lived with her. In all that, she never did end up getting cancer.

I've got a lump I need checked out right now myself. I have a mammogram scheduled, but can't get in until Aug. 23rd. I'm totally putting it out of my mind until I have to face it. I've had this scare before, and I could be like my mother - just cysts. I've found 90% of what you worry about never comes to pass, and the other 10% you have no control over so there's no sense driving yourself crazy with worry. I'm saving that energy in case I need to dig in and fight anything serious.

Still, I pray and hope all's well for the both of you and your moms. Hang in there. :)

Yes, she had the tests done yesterday to find out if the lump is cancerous or not; and she should receive the results back, soon. My mom (even at 73) is pretty tough. I do worry about her, though, because she is not in the greatest of health to being with; but I am being strong for the both of us, including my dad, whom, I think is dealing with my mom's cancer scare the hardest.
I do know what you're going through with your mom's health. Back in 2001-2002 my Mom's health just deteriorated. She got so bad she couldn't leave the house. Yet she refused to see a doctor. All that year all I did was worry. I had plenty of nightmares too. Your Mom is a very special lady Tara and she has a special daughter. You two remain in my prayers and I'm hoping you're doing okay. :)
