Here's something hypothetical. If Mark Goodson was still alive, would he approve of Rosie O'Donnell replacing Bob Barker as host of "The Price is Right?" My answer would be he would set up a nonbroadcast show to see if she could handle the show's mechanics.

If Mark Goodson were still alive, he would be very disgusted. Jonathan Goodson, Mark's son, who now runs his own production company, probably wouldn't go for this, either. Michael Canter, Family Feud exec. producer and likely The Price is Right's next executive producer, would probably say that in the best interest of the show, we'll pass on Rosie O'Donnell as the host.

He is probably rolling in his grave at the mere thought right now... ohno:

No way on God's green earth would Mark approved of Rosie. He wanted his game shows to be family oriented not controversial.

Maybe he would have ten years ago, but as for today I would say no.

I've heard there was never any truth to TPIR considering Rosie as host. It was all publicity.
