say everything WITHOUT feeling. It wasn;t like that with the dad, or wally and the beaver, just the mother. She came off like she was operated by battery and was so robot like and strange looking. Defintely one of the oddest mothers in TV history to me. Rosie off the Jetsons was more lively than her-lol

Didn't you know that June Cleaver WAS a robot?

They just pulled a rubber suit over "Robbie The Robot" from Lost In Space. ;)

lol - probably one of those "Big Bruiser" jobs! That's why you always saw her in a "pearl necklace" - it actually hides the seam where you replace the batteries. ;)

There was a ep of Fresh Prince where they did a SPOOF of the Leave it to Beaver Mother and the women acted just like June, Robot with a Dress-lol

I have to strongly disagree with that comment. While June Cleaver may not have had the most engaging personality, her emotions and feelings definitely came through in the episodes. You will see in many episodes where she will scold Beaver or Wally for something wrong they've done, and conversely show them a mothers love as well. I think the June Cleaver role was that of a typical 50's mom. A loving and devoted wife to her husband, and loving and caring mother to her children. She would scold the Beav or Wally whenever they got themselves into trouble, but in typical 50's sitcom fashion it was Ward the father who would usually hand out the final punishment.

That is because the spoof occurred on a crude show like The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. As the saying goes, consider the source.

Agreed,

Watch the episode "June's Birthday", where she tries to explain to Beaver why she doesn't wear the tacky blouse that he buys for her, not knowing any better, to the Mother's Tea meeting. That's one of her many charming moments with her sons.

Or better yet look at the "Brotherly Love" episode from Season 1 when she tries to stop Beaver and Wally from fighting by making them sign a friendship pact. That's about as emotional as I've ever seen her get.

June may not have been as demonstrative or emotional as some other TV moms, but it was always clear that she loved her husband and sons very much. She also had a subtle sense of humor; I always loved how she would roll her eyes at Ward whenever Eddie Haskell tried to feed them some crazy line.

I thought they were all somewhat robotic. Everything down to the laugh track. lol Seriously though, I apologize if this offends any fans. I do NOT want to trash your show.

Not to nitpick, but Robbie the Robot, and the Robot from Lost in Space were two totally different 'bots. Robbie was from Forbidden Planet.

I know! I loved her in Airplane! She was a great mom on Beaver. I thought she was sensitive and emotional, nothing like a robot.

Remember June on Roseanne?

June: (after Roseanne whispers her salary to the sitcom moms) Oh, my God! Why I'd make out with a chick for that kind of dough! :winkgrin

Thank you for that. That's my favorite scene from the movie, I think if they got anyone else for that part it wouldn't be nearly as funny as it is.
