The show starred Kellie Martin, Tyne Daly and Tess Harper. Dude, you're making that up. The books came AFTER the series. If you know anything about this series, you know that Gene pitched it to the network as "Wagon Train in space." There were no books, and he created the series from nothing but his own brain. On the other hand: Spenser: For Hire and by extrapolation A Man Called Hawk are based on the Spenser mystery novels by Robert Parker. The Ellery Queen Mysteries are based on the book series of the same name. Dave's World is based on the writings of humorist Dave Barry.
