This was the only episode on the DVD that ended with Kotter telling TWO JOKES instead of One Joke like he did in all the other eps. In the ending of "Kotter makes Good", he tells an Aunt and Uncle Joke. Also the Footage for the closing credits of this ep is longer than the other eps. You actually see that girl who is on the bicycle turn the corner and then you start seeing people on the other side of the street.

Perhaps the episode ran a little short, so they let him tell an extra joke and allowed the closing credits to run a little longer in order to make up for the lost time.

I haven't watched all the season 1 episodes yet, but I notice on the later ones, they shortened the beginning a tad (and put the written and director credits after the opening, and the executive producer credit at the end, after his last joke). The longer ending on "Kotter Makes Good" starts another verse at the end, which is different than the other episodes I've watched so far. I think that version was used more often on later episodes in the series, if I remember correctly (I used to hate it when the local channel would cut off the end credits early on this show ;) )
