There was a Lost Loves segment that I recall from the early '90s that was never shown on Lifetime (or at least I never saw it on Lifetime). It most likely aired during the 1992-93 season, though it's possible that it could have aired early in the following season.

Here's what I remember about it:

The segment focused on a man who had gone through some problems (maybe drug-related?) during the early '80s, and called a woman who helped him through his dilemma. I remember the segment featuring a reenactment of the man using a pay phone to contact this woman. The man told his story on UM in the hopes that it would result in him finding this woman, so that he could thank her.

I don't remember much else about the segment. Does this segment sound familiar?

Interesting you would bring that up now as I just put it on volume 10. Yes he was addicted to drugs and even tried to overdose while on the phone with "Libby" (the drug counselor). He had been clean and sober for years at the time of the segment and was even working as a stand-up comedian. I would like to know if he was able to locate her.

Bummer, I was hoping you knew  This seems to me to be 100% solvable so is it possible Lifetime "forgot" to air the update

I wish I did. I did find a website with a few mentions of him and as of then he was still a NY comedian. I emailed them so hopefully I can track him down and see if he ever found "Libby".

Ididn'tdoit...you avatar cracks me up every time I see it. Maybe that guy is really in the witness protection program.

Maybe they gave Detective Sipowicz a new identity and relocated him to NM?
