Saying that it was "just too much too soon," Kelly Clarkson let her fans know that she had to cancel her summer tour because of low ticket sales. Just a couple days before she fired her manager, Jeff Kwatinetz of The Firm management group.

Clarkson said on her Website, "In the craziness of the music business, performing is what I look forward to doing the most, so it really is disappointing for me to have to tell you that I won't be coming out to tour this summer. The fact is that touring is just too much too soon.

"But I promise you that we're going to get back out there as soon as is humanly possible to give you a show that will be even better."

This comes not too long after a reportedly heated battle between Clive Davis, who manages the RCA label that Clarkson records for. Clarkson has said that while there has been some tension, the battles were exaggerated.

Yeah, I heard about that. I'm surprised that she had low ticket sales, and it'll be interesting to see how this all turns out.

Clive Davis is a control freak. He has masterminded many careers and even revived those of Carlos Santana and Rod Stewart. But those came at a price, as Clive oversaw the recordings, picking songs and even picking the guest artists in the case of Santana.

I have heard rumors in fan circles that Clive is sabotaging this album to show Kelly who's boss, because she took control over the creative direction of this album. But to me, that makes no sense. Why bother even letting Clarkson make the album if you disapprove the material??

This is all speculation, but if the album tanks, then Clive can say that she didn't follow his advice and the album tanked. Then perhaps she'll go crawling back to Clive and do what she's told for the next one. The reason I say this is because Whitney Houston's last album, Just Whitney was the only album she's done that didn't have Clive's involvement and it was a flop. Now that Whitney has put down Bobby Brown, she's working again with Clive on a new album.

It's too bad - Kelly actually has some talent. I didn't even take notice of her until "Breakaway" became a massive hit. I never watched American Idol.

The tour wasn't cancelled just because of low ticket sales, she didn't want to do a tour in the first place. Her management forced her to do a tour when RCA were still unsure about releasing an album. By announcing the tour, which would feature all the songs from the new album, RCA were forced to announce a release date for the CD.

Tickets for the concerts sold well...they sold about the same amounts that her last tour did. All of the shows for her last tour sold out, but since this tour was in larger venues, they didn't sell out lol.
