Well, let's take a look:

Don't expect LIFE WITH LUCY anytime soon... it's kind of a flop of a show that gained little to none recognition (I've never even seen the show, but I've heard about it since I am a diehard Lucy fan).

THE LUCY SHOW is probably coming soon... I think CBS DVD did very well with the ILL franchise (they even released the LUCY-DESI COMEDY HOURS), and they want to capitalize on Lucy as much as possible... granted it's not as big a seller as a modern show, but Lucy is still Lucy and is going to sell well no matter what. I'd expect the first season by Christmas of this year at the latest.

HERE'S LUCY Paramount MIGHT decide to pick up AFTER they do (assuming they do) THE LUCY SHOW's six seasons, but since we already have a Shout! Factory best-of set that didn't sell well, I'm sure PHE heard about it and probably aren't all-that-anxious to release full seasons. (Fans out there, if you were hesitant on buying the set because you want full seasons, go out and purchase the set ASAP, because it's one hell of a set, plus it furthers our cause to get full seasons out.)

So there you have it. Just when we thought PHE exhausted the Lucy library, they've only begun the excavation.

i've heard mixed reviews on how the Best of Here's Lucy sold.
and i have a bootleg copy of Life With Lucy and it was really a cute show.

Who exactly owns the rights to Here's Lucy? We can assume it is Paramount because they pretty much own everything Lucy, but at the end of the episodes that aired on Sun TV after season one it was Warner Brothers logo that showed up after the show.

Maybe we'll here more about The Lucy Show after the complete I Love Lucy collection is released.

I hope so..the thing with the complete series release...
it makes me think they believe there is only a market for ILL.

PHE tries to cash in on all their shows, just like they did with THE BRADY BUNCH and THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW. Don't worry, we'll eventually see THE LUCY SHOW officially released...

The end credits on Here's Lucy says "Distributed by Paul Brownstein Productions".

Is it like apart of the credits or on another seperate screen shot right after the show? With all the purchasing since the show went off the air, it is with either Paramount or Warner.

it is after the LBP logo. This is on the DVD set. His website www.tvclassics.com states that his company has the distribution rights. Warner only had the syndication rights when it was first syndicated in the '80s (by Telepictures, whom Warner later bought). Paramount helped co-produced the first season, but AFIK, has no ownership, but I'm not an expert and could be wrong.

Oh, yeah. It looks like your right. They also have the rights to The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Doris Day Show which were released by different companies. Sounds like the production company you are referring to just "leases" their shows out to companies. If it is released by them, it sounds like Here's Lucy might get some decent bonus features. I'm not 100% on that though.

Well, Shout! Factory has already done one HL's release and the bonuses were great! I had went to Lucie Arnaz's site awhile back and she stated that there was indeed plans for a second DVD release, but some stuff came up and it was nixed--don't recall the exact details (she was kinda vague herself).

Yes, those bonus features were excellent. I would much rather have a company that produced that kind of material handling any television show.

Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz, Jr. own the show, but Paul Brownstein has licensing rights to distribute it. Paramount never owned the show as it was produced by Lucille Ball's own company, Lucille Ball Productions, and she kept it in the family and never sold that (small) company as she had Desilu.
