A tribute on YouTube, clip from his very first show, clips from the beginning and end of today(slightly spoilery, you can see which showcase podium has the winner), and stuff in between.

But he may not be gone for long...

Yeah, it was definitely one of the best episodes we've seen in a long time, and was a great way to go out, thanks to Bob Barker making the show so great day after day. I can't believe she one as much as she did in the Showcase Showdown - that definitely hasn't happened in awhile.

Even though I saw it this morning, I think I"ll catch it again later tonight . . .

I didn't know this, but the last 3 games played(Double Prices, Grocery Game, Any Number) were the FIRST 3 games played on Bob's first TPIR, which makes Any Number the first and last game on ironically the first and last of Bob's TPIR. The outcome was different though this time.

and all six games all debuted in the first year the show was on the air. Pretty amazing...

I was hoping any number would be last & it was. Plinko did not debut in 1972 though, it was born in Jan of 1983!!!

Not quite. Grocery Game popped up on the second show (Bonus Game was played on the first show, not Grocery Game, while Plinko didn't debut until Jan 1983 - a full ten and a half years after the show debuted. Amazing to think that compared to a lot of the games Plinko's still relatively new :)

Well, he did say it is a historic event. And it is. There was a big winner. I seen clips of the final show on the news. I am sure the vibe of the audience was extreme. I know they threw glitter or confetti in the beginning.

I'm glad you were able to catch the show tonight, Irene, but there's no point even attempting to reason anything with Solomon-he has his own agenda which we don't agree with at all. I hope you enjoyed the show, but imagine what season 36 will be like. As scary as it might be, this will be the post-Bob Barker era of The Price is Right, but he's more than earned the right to retire while on top. His finale on TPIR is exactly as we would expect him to call it a career, especially by thanking the fans for tuning him to see him on television for the last 51 years.

You don't think the last episode of someone who has hosted the show for THIRTY-FIVE years isn't special? Most people don't know TPIR without Bob.

I plan to watch the summer repeats and as long as they continue, I only saw about 1/3rd of the season anyway, sadly.

I'm just saying it didn't do anything for me and not worth keeping. His last appearance would only be a keper if I could find the very FIRST ep in 1972 and then both would be stored together-lol

Brent, you can't reason with Solomon-he won't listen to any of us. Watch those summer repeats, take in everything you'll see, because TPIR will be in good hands in season 36. I watched E! News Daily this morning, where Bob Barker's advice to his successor is, as we expect him to say, "When hosting The Price is Right, it's your show to host, do it your way!" When you think about Bob's advice to his successor(Bob will never be replaced), that's very powerful advice and he's right. As far as Bob's successor is concerned, I'm still banking on Todd Newton(TPIR Live host, who's actually taken notes while attending Bob's show at CBS).

I love Bob Barker did his last gig on "The Price Is Right" after 35 years of hosting and 50 years on TV. I missed him so much. It's very sad to see him go.

I used to watched him on TV since I was a kid, and he was still the king of "The Price Is Right".

Now I decided to give up the show, because of his retirement. Good luck!:(

For loyal fans & true of the price is right, yesterday was classic & just a wonderful way for Bob to say goodbye. There was talk on another thread not to long ago & we were predicting what Bob would say & i have to say I was pretty darn close!!! I knew he would end with help control the pet population have your pets spayed or neutered goodbye everybody, but I had a feeling he would thank the audience because that is just the way that he is.

Some tidbits about the last show that people may not know. During the taping while playing the grocery game the cash register malfunctioned so they had to have a stop down to repair it & to be honest I was looking for the edit & could not tell when it was edited.

The first person in Line Phillip Barrett arrived more than 5 days ahead of the taping & was 1st in line for the historic taping & was chosen as a contestant.

The winner of the showcase was the second biggest winner in the history of the daytime show, only a girl on the 35th season premiere won more money on the daytime show.

The ending to the primetime airing of the show which led into the daytime emmys was actually taped a few days ahead of time. A funny note regarding this, I doubt anyone noticed this but on the show that aired on mon june 11th Bob was wearing the same suit he wore yesterday. Since they taped the lead in to the emmys after the show that aired on monday, they had to have bob wear the same suit on Friday so the clip at the end of the show would not look goofy with Bob in one suit on stage & another in his dressing room for the party.

Any Number was the first game ever played with Bob on sept 4, 1972 & it was the very last game played with Bob.

As Far as the new host goes the lastest word I got from my friend in Hollywood is that the " pace is being picked up" but they still really have no idea what they are going to do. In my opinion based on what I have heard I think that it will be either Todd Newton or Rich fields hosting the show next year. LETS GO RICH!!!!!!!!!!!!

If anyone has any questions about the taping por the show in general, let me know :)

I don't know how the 11am airing did, but the primetime repeat got a 5.5/11 or about 9 million viewers, #1 in the timeslot.
