Life As A Townsend

Takes place in Arlington Heights, Illoinis.

Starring Steve Guttenberg and Ann Cusack as Steve and Jane Townsend, a happily married couple living with their two teenage daughters in their beautiful hometown of Arlington Heights, IL. Steve works as an architect, and Jane works as a bookkeeper for the local grocery store. Their two daughters are: Rhiannon Townsend, 18 (Ellary Porterfield), and Kelly Townsend, 16 (Emma Roberts). Rhiannon is a high school senior, as Kelly is a high school sophomore. Rhiannon is a shy wallflower-type of girl who doesn't really belong to a certain social group, yet spends most of her time with her childhood best friend, Alecia Yang (Janel Parrish)-a pop-punkish rebel with a mind of her own and attitude if you get on her bad side. Also, just recently, Rhiannon was assigned by her teacher to tutor her longtime secret crush, Sam Everson (Zac Efron), who's the star basketball player with the stuckup head cheerleader as his girlfriend, Sarah Malone (Sara Paxton)-who often buttheads with Alecia (and Rhiannon). Kelly is the popular cheerleader/athlete with a heart of gold and doesn't let her popularity go to her head, and also she has been crushed on more times than bugs have. Kelly's longtime best friend-turned-boyfriend, Max Peterson (Max Thieriot) is often hanging out with Kelly at the Townsend household, and is well liked by all of the Townsends not just Kelly.Watch how the Townsend family and their friends try to survive everyday life, and its trials and tribulations, in Arlington Heights, Illoinis.

Episodes

Ep1: Pilot Episode:
It's the first day of school for Rhiannon and Kelly, and their friends. While on the first day back, the word is spread about Kelly and Max's announcement that they went from friends to a couple over the summer. After hearing the latest buzz about her sister, Rhiannon becomes annoyed by everyone fawning over Kelly (and Max). Meanwhile, Rhiannon and Alecia learn that Rhiannon's longtime secret crush, Sam is in their math class. The math teacher, Mrs. Reynolds (Justine Bateman) decides to have tutors for the kids who didn't do so well on the over summer math test, and much to Rhiannon's happiness, Rhiannon is paired up with Sam as she has to tutor him in math all semester. Elsewhere, Steve and Jane are happy as can be that school is back in session and seven hours free of whiny, greedy kids around the house, as they both have used a day of vacation to bask in the glory of a kid-free day of peace and quiet.

Ep2: Not A Happy Camper:
Sam's stuckup head cheerleader, Sarah makes it known to Rhiannon publicly that she does not like the fact that Rhiannon is tutoring her "hot" boyfriend. Just as Rhiannon is about to walk away and ignore Sarah, an insulted Alecia speaks up and puts Sarah in her place (in front of all of her friends), which just ensues more jealousy and anger out of Sarah. Also, Sam and Rhiannon begin their first tutoring session, yet keep getting disrupted by Sarah's constant text messages to Sam. Meanwhile, Kelly decides to make all her friends happy by trying out for the girls' volleyball team, yet is appauled when she isn't named the new captain after she gets showed up by the new girl in school (Amy Bruckner).
