I recently watched the 1966 Adam West Batman film on dvd and put on the subtitles (which I guess are from the script of the movie). Quite a bit of what the actors said was very different than what was written. I also wonder who that man running in the opening credits is supposed to be? And whose the lady in the opening credits smoking a cigarrette?

Just to give it a cool "spy movie" feel I think......nothing whatsoever to do with the actual movie.....
You'll find most subtitles for the hearing impaired aren't word for word with the dialogue. Please don't ask me why.:)

Thanks for the explanation but I still don't fully get it. The man in the opening credits running seems like he'd be an ordinary villian (not work for the kind the Bat goes up against). And again---the lady smoking? Were the writers implying the Bat goes up against regular crooks too?

I will say this much, the 1966 version is the only Batman movie I liked. The other ones I saw I hated.
