So it`s AFV, a BIG marathon, and then the rotating 3 shows?......I hate it! I liked the 2, 8 episode marathons (of 2 shows) a night.

And I can't believe they aren't even bringing Growing Pains back for at least a single episode a night. They should air it between AFV and the marathon.

I won't be watching N@N this summer.

What is with the FRESH PRINCE? It gets three weeks worth of Marathons while the other shows only get one? This is such poor programming.

why does anyone even bother to watch this sorry excuse for a network anymore? Nick would be better off just airing a test pattern from 9PM - 6AM.

the old marathans they did were much, much better.

Wow, it's unbelieveable. Instead of 3 weeks of Fresh Prince, couldn't we have gotten 2 weeks and maybe a week of ADW, MAY, MB, DW, and GP? Instead, they still decide to shaft there shows, and give us the worst summer we've ever had. And now its 3 shows sharing one slot? Crazy.

Pavan
06-13-2007, 05:02 PM
You think they would show a wall to wall week of MB, DeW, MAY, ADW, and GP? LOL!!! That would never happen. And if it did, they would stop in the middle of it, I'm sure. I'm surprised Full House got in there.

I just thought of something. When networks get the rights to air the shows, they only can air a certain amount. When that's done, they can't show the program anymore. Am I right or wrong? If I'm right, is Nick at Nite doing this so it doesn't have to air Fresh Prince when it's closer to the end of their rights?

They're doing this because Fresh Prince is EASILY their most popular show, and does VERY well for them. And because they have about 60 bazillion airplays per ep.

You're right! What was I thinking?

No, I meant that they could air just 1 week of showing all those shows on a different day of the week, but the only way that would happen was if they actually listened to what we had to say at these boards. But, Fresh Prince outrates every other option. NAN should think about changing there slogan to "When in a pinch, go with the Prince." Seriously, this is like the only show airing from now on. I can't wait to see what August will bring us.

And, for anyone who wanted to know, Murphy Brown will be airing every Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday (easily the best days), Designing Women will be airing every Monday and Friday, and Hi-Jinks will be airing every Wednesday and Sunday. How can they honestly believe Hi-Jinks is going to do well at 5 in the morning?

Lastly, last year's marathons were much better. They split up each night into 2 seperate marathons, which let us watch all the abandoned shows.

What happened to Roseanne? I thought that was their 'blockbuster' show? Now it seems almost forgotten.

From the looks of things I don't look for Full House to be renewed this fall.

What happened to Roseanne? I thought that was their 'blockbuster' show? Now it seems almost forgotten.

Well, when Roseanne first came to N@N I watched it all the time, now I watch it maybe 2-3 times a MONTH. I got tired of the show... I'm taking a break and then will buy the DVD's of the best seasons. Plus I am sick of N@N's constant schedule changes, erratic lineups(different pretty much every night), and now they are skipping around with the episodes big time. 5th season, 9th season, then back to the 5th season.

I'm surprised Fresh Prince hasn't fallen victim to the "getting old" syndrome yet. I don't understand how the show does so well...

So this wall to wall marathon crap is just a week long running of the same simple marathons they already have every night when its not a FP marathon week....only exception they are running FH which I have heard is over on their contract this fall, unless they renew it....which I doubt.

Seems N@N has is favorites and runs it into the ground. A few years ago it was TCS, the Roseanne, and now FP. I will admit FP is really overplayed and I would be willing to go as far as saying it is played more then TCS was in its #1 days on N@N.

If they are going to show 100 episodes of each show on the marathon, does that mean that we are going to get 300 episodes of FP? Is there even 300 FP episodes to show, or are they going to rerun the same shows per marathon?

JulieSomoski
06-16-2007, 11:02 AM
They are probably going to air most Fresh Prince episodes twice, some maybe even 3 times. It just depends on how many times each episode can air. If an episode has a limited amount of airplays left, they might not air it at all.

And, I thought they were airing the movie "Grease" in July. Is that still happening? There is still a page for it at their website, and I saw a commerical for it yesterday.

JulieSomoski

Just a bit of hope. According to TVLtheLink over at the NAN/TVL message boards, Nick at Nite has been listening to our complaints, and are taking the Fresh Prince marathon July 2 - July 9 and are replacing it with perhaps another week of Roseanne. It's not for sure yet, though.

It just seems like there are not many FP fans on the board because no one would ever complain about mutiple marathons of a show they love watching. I love FP and It doesn't bother me one bit because for one I'm not going to watch every second of the marathon, i'm just thankful N@N has given me the option just in case i'm in a FP watching mood

Grease is the One on Nick at Nite:
The debut of classic theatrical Grease on Nick at Nite scored a hefty 2.6 household rating, 3.5 million viewers, 1.4 million adults 18-49 and 1.1 million kids 2-11 on Sunday, July 1. Comparatively, that was up by triple-digit percentages from the year-ago time period average.

I usually only watch Nick at Nite for Roseanne, SOMETIMES Full House and The Fresh Prince.

But I remember reading how Roseanne use to pull in HUGE ratings for Nick at Nite. I'm sure it still does pretty well, but I'd like to see the numbers it pulled in for this recent marathon it had.

I've noticed they played a lot of the later episodes of Roseanne, and I wonder why. Because in all honesty, Roseanne was only good for its first 6 seasons, and only had a few good episodes in the 7th, 8th and 9th seasons.

So, they should play all the first 6 seasons and then WISELY pick episodes from the 7th, 8th and 9th seasons to air. Otherwise, people like me (die-hard Roseanne fans) are even going to get bored with the marathon.

That doesn't make any sense. I loved the last 4 seasons, especially since they aren't played much, so watching episodes from those seasons, but the arlier seasons from last night, I'm enjoying the marathon. Plus, I would expect Roseanne to be running out of airplays on a lot of episodes, since the onctract is up in September, which means they have to pick episodes with more airplays to air.

Pavan, do you know yet if Roseanne/Full House will get renewed? The contracts expire in a couple months, so you'd think NAN would let us know.

Well, it kind of makes sense because the first 6 seasons were in the Top 5 of the Nielsen Ratings, and the last 3 seasons kept declining in viewership and were NOT in the Top 5.

Clearly, the quality of the show when down-hill after the 6th season. Don't get me wrong, I love some parts of the 7th, 8th and 9th seasons. However, as a whole, those seasons are not as strong and CLEARLY not as many people liked them, or else they would have stayed higher on the Nielsen Ratings.

And because of Sarah Chalke replacing Lecy Goranson, but there are a lot of reasons to state here. But, in my opinion, if you plan on watching Roseanne that night, then you're gonna watch whatever episode is on. I don't care if its from the first season or the ninth, it's all the same show.

And, does ANYONE know if both shows will get renewed?

Exactly. It's not as if they don't give enough time to Fresh Prince, anyway. To end the Full House marathon early, and replace it with Fresh Prince, which has been played to death, is the worst thing they could have done. At the very least, they could have just replaced it with their regular schedule, or another show that isn't given as much time.

However, they don't really care about the viewers at N@N, and that's why I'm not tuning into them, anymore. They have lost me as a viewer, and trust me, I won't miss them.

Ratings! The ratings for "Full House" were such (negative) that the network couldn't afford to keep airing the show in the marathon format. It is understandable that fans of the show are reacting negatively to the decision, but, the network has to think about ALL viewers, not just the fans of "Full House".

So, Full House is not getting renewed, or is it? And, is Roseanne still getting renewed, because last I heard, it was.

And, about the whole Full house thing, it was NAN's one fault for airing the show in marathon format. They have done that before, and it never worked, so why would they do it again? And, over it all, they give us another week. Now, I'm an avid fan of the show. I watch it on DVD's, but I rarely watch the show on NAN. If they were giving us more weekly summer marathons, the least they could have done is give us another Cosby week instead of Full House. But, we still get a week and a half of Fresh Prince, so I've already begun fluffing my pillow . . .

But, we still get a week and a half of Fresh Prince, so I've already begun fluffing my pillow . . .

That's what I asked, why do another full house week if it didn't work the first time?

This could be really out there, but maybe they are doing it for the fans of Full House. Since this time it's only a 4-day marathon, maybe it won't do as badly as it did last time, which is really stupid to think, because if it did badly the first time, it's bound to do badly the second time. They could have at least Gave us 4 days of Full House, and maybe that Friday, Saturday, and Sunday The Cosby Show, instead of more Fresh Prince.

Has anyone seen the commercials fro Home Improvement coming in September? They basically just say "What time is it?" and "Tool Time", then say it's coming this September. Basic commercial, but it's good to see they are promoting it so early. I know they never promoted Growing Pains, AFV, or A Different World this early.

Well, Home Improvement was a higher rated than those shows during their original runs. I think they expect it to be their next Fresh Prince.

I could care less what they show on Nick@Nite, anymore. I haven't watched it since they yanked the Full House marathon, early.

By next Tuesday, I will have the majority of Full House and Roseanne on DVD. Those are the only two shows that I watch on Nick@Nite, anymore. On top of that, my evening viewing has been with ION, especially since they've added Who's The Boss? I'm really loving the current ION schedule, and I hope they keep it as it is, at least with the schedule of Designing Women, Mama's Family, Who's The Boss?, and The Wonder Years.

So, I can finally say I'm happy to be rid of watching Nick@Nite. Their scheduling sucks, and they air entirely too much Fresh Prince.

For the last week in August, I'm pretty sure it's going to be Home Improvement's debut marathon, because Link said the show will have a week long marathon, and is now debuting in late August to bring up ratings. So, they are relying on this show to do well, and I hope it does.

I'm hoping for another Cosby marathon, since they've only had one so far. Anything besides Fresh Prince. I thought since that week hasn't been decided yet, Home Improvement could have it's week long marathon before settling into it's normal time slot, whenever that is.

If it's true, it's the most disgusting thing I've ever heard. I honestly can't believe people are still watching that show, much less care to watch it EVERY freaking night of the week.

If they can't start giving more times to their other shows, then I think they are going to continue to lose viewers. They might as well take every other show off the schedule.

I thought you said Monday night's lineup was sexy. I didn't even turn to TVLand last night. On NAN, they did air the dream episode with Rudy and Olivia, and I immediately turned the TV off and went on my computer-LOL. How could they air crap like that in such a good slot?

I meant to say Monday Night

Is there any word yet on the September/October schedule? Are Roseanne/Full House getting renewed? What are the exact dates for tThe HI and Gl launch marathons? NAN is so slow with this stuff.

It will be discussed when the monthly threads for those months are out.

For all you MAY fans, NAN will be airing a very random airing of it, the night of Thursday, August 30th at 5am.

Guess this means A Different World, Growing Pains, or anything non-Fresh might appear then.

Theres always a chance. If anything, though, I'd expect to see A Different World back on before Growing Pains, but that's just a guess. They might all appear in the rotating 5am slot someday.

Again? Although, it is a better change than Fresh Prince AGAIN Thursday night. It makes me wonder why they're scheduling all these last minute changes, interrupting the Fresh Prince marathon. On Sunday, they had the home improvements marathon which they didn't really announce, and now Grease interrupting 4 episodes on Thursday.

Nick at Nite is not going for the boomer audience though, lol. TV Land is.

They are just airing it again because it did well in the ratings when it premiered on Nick at Nite. TV Land aired it this past Friday & Saturday, so they must have a lot of plays remaining.

Most of the networks are run by people in their 40s and 50s.
