Oh that is a good one. Especially seeing Vera smoking. We never saw her smoke before, and here she is now smoking. :rolleyes:

Yeah I read some people trashing that at JumptheShark.com, but Alice does say in the beginning, "Oh Vera, are you smoking again??", at least indicating that Vera has had a smoking problem before.

Still, it would have been nicer if we had at least seen Vera smoke before, or mention that she used to have a smoking addiction. For instance, "Friends fans know that Chandler used to have a smoking addiction, and it was alluded to and shown a few times, so a storyline like this would have seemed more true to character there.

I guess as thin as Vera was, it was believable that she was a smoker at one time. But like you said, at least it should have been alluded to that fact that she smoked.
