LOS ANGELES TMZ.com is reporting that Frankie Abernathy, one of the cast members of "Real World: San Diego", died Saturday at her mother's home in Wisconsin.

Abernathy was 25.

Frankie was afflicted with Cystic Fibrosis which made up a significant part of her storyline on the show. While many of her cast mates worked on a boat, Frankie would beg off saying the work was too strenuous.

She often had difficulty breathing and was often sick.

TMZ.com referred to Frankie as "the punked-out, boat-phobic rock chick."

According to MTV News, an official cause of death has not been determined.

Her illness led Frankie to often lash out at her roommates, and vice versa, and after several major blow-ups she chose to leave the house before the season ended.

Oh my God, this is sad. I loved Real World San Diego, it was the last season I really enjoyed. From that point on it was more than downhill. IT HAS BECOME THE PITS.

This is shocking to me. She was a real stand-out person on that season and I am sad to hear of her passing. May she R.I.P.

This shocks me much like that death of the Road Rules girl who was a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. She was killed in a car accident. God, I can't remember her name.

Pedro Zamora from Real World San Francisco was the first death of a Real World personality.

This was my favorite Season and I would toon in every week to watch the cast. This is very sad to hear that she died, and at such a young age. Rest In Peace Frankie Abernathy.

dang it seems like just yesturday san diego was on.. Franky was cool..I was shocked when I heard this on the radio this morning on the way to school.
