I was adding some of my favorite MTM episodes to my iPod today and found that someone named Martin Donovan wrote two of them: Farmer Ted And The News, and It's Whether You Win Or Lose (Murray has a gambling problem and bets Ted he can't pronounce the Japanese prime minister's name.)
Two hilarious episodes written by a guy I had never heard of. Apparently, no one here has heard of him, either, because a search for his name yielded nothing.
If I had to rank my favorite MTM writers, David Lloyd unquestionably would be No. 1. But I'd have to take a good, hard look at Martin Donovan for No. 2 on the strength of these two episodes.
I would like to know:
A) Have you heard of Martin Donovan?
B) What is your opinion of his MTM work?
C) Where would you rank him on your list of favorite MTM writers?
