One thing I don't understand watching Season 6. If Keith was a first round draft pick who damaged his knee, why wasn't he being followed all over by the media? Wouldn't he have done a press conference or any interviews??
His injury sounds just like something that would happen today to the Browns. :o

Never thought of that, yeah like if Reggie Bush was injured you would have expected him to be in a media circus

Plus, the show was set in Chicago, a MAJOR sports market! You'd think the media would be all over this guy.

I can't remember how it was back then when athletes were hot. Maybe it wasn't like that so much. I don't know. Solomon, do you know? I wasn't into sports in the mid 70's.

My mom said the media was a lot different in that time, not like it is now

Even back then, a #1 NFL draft pick sustaining a major leg injury would've been big news. I think even a couple of mentions of Keith dealing with the media would've made sense. Just my 2 cents...:D

Yeah, at least Keith's manager should have been shown. We only heard Keith on the phone with him. It just seemed that he went from a somebody to a nobody.
I am with you on what your mom said Solomon. However, like Catlover says, something, at least some attention would've been brought to Keith's injury by at least the local paper.

^ Keith was always doing imitations of Howard Cosell, so it gives you pause.
Didn't Keith or Thelma (or JJ) refer to OJ Simpson and his Hertz commercials in one episode??

I think that was JJ.

You're right - I recently saw this episode again.
