I found this pretty interesting. A friend of mine who is James Gandolfini's stunt double, body double and also had a few cameos in the series, told me the two other endings for the finale.

1. The entire Sopranos family gets whacked inside the ice cream Palor. The finale scene just shows all four of them sitting at the table dead and fades to black.

2. The second ending had Tony not show up at the ice cream palor and the hitman waiting there calls New York to say, "He didn't Show." Tony is seen sitting at a boathouse smoking a cigar and just staring out into the water.

OMG at the first one listed. I don't think fans could handle that. Tony's death would be bad enough, but his wife and kids.

Thanks for the scoop-a-roo Brian. Good going! :)

Did they film those alternate endings? Or did they just have that written up that way?

I remember when DALLAS had the Who Shot J.R. scenes filmed, they filmed the "Who is the shooter" scenes with everyone in the cast so that no one knew who would be the shooter of J.R.

According to him, they were all filmed. They also cut out an entire scene at Bobby's funeral.
