View Full Version : Your oldest piece of clothing that you STILL wear?
Janice 06-09-2007, 06:00 PM I have the bottoms to a pair of pajamas that I love. They're 10 years old. The top was tossed long ago. I also have an oversized sweatshirt from my last job (with company logo) that's probably 12 years old. There's my black London Fog raincoat which I've had for about 15 years. I only wear it when it's raining, and it's a classic style, so I see no reason to replace it.
dawsongirl 06-09-2007, 06:04 PM Either the Guess Tennis Shoes I bought in 1992, or the Wal-Mart black, long sleeved shirt I bought in...92 or 93. That shirt is still in the same condition as it was when I bought it.
For back when I was 12, that's not bad.
I have a Budwiser jacket, that I've had for 16 years, that I like to wear. It still looks good and fits.
Nighthawk76 06-09-2007, 06:34 PM I have a Van Halen concert t-shirt from 1993 that is still in great condition.

Frischman_Fan 06-09-2007, 08:24 PM I have this blue(well now it's the lightest blue you've ever seen  )shirt and it's about 15 years old about two sizes too big. I wear it to sleep. It was my grandfathers t-shirt. When I slept over my grandparents house 15 years ago, I brought nothing to sleep in and he gave me that t-shirt and I've had it since. It's an adidas shirt btw and I will hand it down to one of kids one of these days...well I don't know...but....
cmcb06 06-09-2007, 08:36 PM I have a pair of sandals that I purchased in 2000 that I still wear. I also have a few t shirts that I've had since I was younger. TripperFan 06-09-2007, 08:59 PM I'll bet I'll take the trophy here. I've got a suede skirt and vest that I can still wear from grade 9. Circa 1975. No kidding. It actually became too big for me for about 25 years, but I have put a bit of weight back on and can get into it again. It's still in style, but it's that heavy "cowhide", not lamb so you can hear me walking in it. I guess I still hang onto it for nostalga purposes only. ;)
Oh yeah - and I still have an ORIGINAL M*A*S*H t-shirt from about 1977.
Courtnee 06-09-2007, 09:18 PM I really don't have any old clothes, but I still have my freshman hoodie.

I'm 28 and I have a pair of pajamas that I got in 8th grade, but I don't wear them too often anymore. I wear my high school soccer jacket that I got as a freshman whenever it rains. It has a hood and a pocket big enough to carry my umbrella.
AllIWantIsYourClutch 06-10-2007, 01:05 AM I dont know, but I do know that tonight when I sat down, I ripped a pair of 7 year old pajama pants. Those are (were) pretty old.

I have a really nice Mets cap I bought when I worked in a Sporting goods store during my High School/College years. It has to be close to 20 years old. Of course it spent about ten of those years packed in a box in my Parent's attic.

Ohio8 06-17-2007, 05:42 PM In Feb. 1999, I went to a Black Sabbath concert in Detroit and bought a T-shirt that I still wear. The oldest item I still have, however, is a blue jacket I received for Christmas 1994. I'll start wearing it again as soon as I lose a few pounds.
-*Forever*- 06-18-2007, 12:09 AM When I was in first grade, I played t-ball and our team names were the names of the actual MLB teams. My team was the Marlins, and I still wear the shirt now because the Marlins are my favourite team :D Ironic how that worked out. But damn, that shirt must have been huge on me when I was little, since it fits just fine now. Even though in my mind, I remember it fitting just fine... weird.

My boyfriend wears old band shirts from back when he was 15 or so. About 10 years for him now. They have tons of holes and are really faded, but he can't part with them.

swedeace 06-22-2007, 11:25 AM I own a couple of clothes that are nearly ten years old! They still look cute today, so...why not? Holy moley! I can't believe that the late 90s is already a decade ago! Damn...
I also own this black and beige flowery peace sign choker necklace that I bought in August 1995 when I earned some good money babysitting for some family friend's two toddlers. Now, they are teenagers! OMG!! Anyway...with that hard-earned money, I bought some clothes, and I recently found this choker in my storage shed. I can't believe I still had it! I thought I had lost it years ago! It's sooooo cute! I want to preserve it well as a reminder of how I earned it well. I ought to take a digital pic of it and post it here. :D
Chocolate Moose 06-22-2007, 01:20 PM My absolutley oldest item is a summer robe that i bought in high school (some of the pattern has been washed out by now). I'm 42 years old!

I have no idea what "chenille" is like, but, whenever I hear people wear that fabric, i want to laugh......cause "Chenille" is the French word for "caterpillar"

romanov1@suscom-main 07-09-2007, 03:00 PM I have this GAP sweater that's like over ten years old. This sad thing is it was my cousins sweater before mine and she had it for five years atleast. But it's still in style and I did wear it this afternoon .
Number 9 Dream 07-09-2007, 09:37 PM OMG, I remember those necklaces! That was the style back then  A lot of girls had them, including me (I had one similar to yours, except mine was just a plain ying yang symbol, not in a flower shape). I wish I still had mine :(
Anyway, I have a few shirts from, like, 2004 that still fit me  I also have a jacket that I wore a lot in 1999, but I haven't worn it in ages.
