They do have a lot of paid programming taking up their schedule. A LOT!

As for Alice, well, if you see it, enjoy it for the short time it will remain on. :(

I wouldn't need to rant about this news because I think the best thing for Alice fans was for ION to let the show go because they had no idea what they doing and from watching Alice the past 5 weeks it was clear that it should be on another cable Network. So my ranting about ION is over and this channel is truly a GRAVY STAIN in the world of cable world-lol

Also, that infamous episode where Mel's mom and Alice sing "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?" in those short dresses. YIKES!

I'm kind of neutral here. While I had great memories of "Alice" as a kid, I've come to realize IMO that it's not that great of a show overall. I've enjoyed seeing them again, but it just doesn't "gel" well today. "Designing Women", on the other hand, I really love, and think is a fantastic show that still holds up just as well today as it did in the mid 80s.

Of course, I don't know how much they'll cut up DW, but I hope not as much as "Alice"---and it would be great to see "Alice" on another channel, with more complete episodes, and better prints! (i.e., lighting). :)

Well, with the bad lighting and chopped up episodes of ALICE and AMEN, you can bet your last dollar they will do that to DW. They have done that to all the sitcoms they have aired on ION, what makes anyone think it won't be done to their "fave" shows?

Really? Yikes...I just assumed it was because "Alice" was from the 70s (well, the first few seasons anyway), and maybe their prints weren't as good. Huh.

And for the person on page 1 who ranted about DW being all over Lifetime, it's not---it hasn't been on regularly for quite a while now, maybe a year or more.

Nope. The quality of ALICE is excellent. It's the channel that screws up the quality. The theme music for AMEN sounds like it is being played off an old record player. It goes real fast, then regular, then slow. Then fast again, then real slow. It does that to the closing theme as well. Those episodes are chopped up so bad and they cut to commercials in the middle of conversations. AMEN's llighting is horrible. I never have to adjust my television for brightness or anything. But on ION I do. That is stupid.

Same thing with Alice. The lighting is real bad. The colors at times were horrendous. It looked blurry, and the stupid interruptions came when the characters were still talking.

Yeah, I noticed that "Amen" looks fine on TV One (though I don't think it's all that good of a show now that I'm watching it as an adult), but on ION it's kind of "yellowed" or aged or something.

I wonder too. I wish I had an answer. I really wish would get their act together. They are disappointing too many fans.
