More on CNN TV: TMZ's Harvey Levin joins Larry King tonight on the Hilton drama. "Larry King Live," 9 p.m. ET.
LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Screaming and crying, Paris Hilton was escorted from a courtroom and ordered back to jail Friday after a judge, overruling the county sheriff, said she must serve out her entire 45-day sentence behind bars rather than in her Hollywood Hills home.
"It's not right!" shouted Hilton, who violated her probation in a reckless driving case. "Mom!" she called out to her mother in the audience.
Earlier Friday, the 26-year-old hotel heiress was handcuffed and taken from her home in a black-and-white police car, paparazzi sprinting in pursuit and helicopters broadcasting live from above. She entered the courtroom disheveled and weeping, hair askew, without makeup, wearing a fuzzy gray sweat shirt over slacks.
She cried throughout the hearing, dabbing her eyes, and her body shook constantly. Several times, she turned to her parents, seated behind her in the courtroom, and mouthed, "I love you."
Despite being ordered to serve the remainder of her original 45-day sentence, Hilton could still be released early. Inmates are given a day off their terms for every four days of good behavior, and her days in home detention counted as time served. (Timeline: The Hilton case)
Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer was calm but apparently irked by the decision by Sheriff Lee Baca -- who oversees the county jails -- to release Hilton three days into her sentence due to an unspecified "medical condition."
"I at no time condoned the actions of the sheriff and at no time told him I approved the actions," Sauer said. "At no time did I approve the defendant being released from custody to her home."
Hilton's release, and the decision to allow her to serve the time at home, angered some local and state authorities and civil rights leaders who said it could interpreted as affording the socialite favors not available to other, less famous, inmates. (Watch the details of Hilton's release )

 Good one my lady.
Look at what I found. Sing these lyrics to the tune of SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN:
You'd better not laugh
You'd better not smile
Until she gets out
(Which may be a while)
Paris Hilton's Going To Jail
She's going to spend
A few weeks in stir
'Cause she thinks the law
Don't matter to her
Paris Hilton's Going To Jail
Try searching there on YouTube
You'll see her "doing bird"
'Cause Paris Hilton's going down
(In both senses of the word)
But I had to laugh
There's tears in my eyes
Her arrogance is
The sort I despise
Paris Hilton's Going To Jail
The judge said "desist"
She flouted him twice
Her sentence, it seems
Ain't gonna be nice
Paris Hilton's Going To Jail
Don't think she'll get a cell phone
But will have a cell-mate
She's lacking a brain cell or two
So she may yet cell-ebrate
So come on and laugh
And laugh till you cry
And ROFL
I'm telling you why:
Paris Hilton's Going To Jail

by Rush
There's no bread, let them eat cake
There's no end to what they'll take
Flaunt the fruits of noble birth
Wash the salt into the earth
But they're marching to Bastille Day
La guillotine will claim her bloody prize
Free the dungeons of the innocent
The king will kneel, and let his kingdom rise
Bloodstained velvet, dirty lace
Naked fear on every face
See them bow their heads to die
As we would bow as they rode by
And we're marching to Bastille Day
La guillotine will claim her bloody prize
Sing, o choirs of cacophony
The king has kneeled, to let his kingdom rise.
Lessons taught but never learned
All around us anger burns
Guide the future by the past
Long ago the mould was cast
For they marched up to Bastille Day
La guillotine claimed her bloody prize
Hear the echoes of the centuries
Power isn't all that money buys
Proof that there is a God.

Hollow 06-08-2007, 10:50 PM from another article:
Paris Hilton's entire body began trembling just before a judge decided to sent her back to jail. A ball of tissue wadded up in her hand and tears running down her face, Hilton screamed after learning she was going to jail to serve the remainder of her 45-day sentence for a parole violation in a reckless driving case.
After the sentence, the courtroom was surrounded with eight deputies who immediately ordered all spectators out. Hilton's mother, Kathy, threw her arms around her husband, Rick, and was sobbing uncontrollably. Deputies escorted Hilton out of the room, holding each of her arms as she looked back.
Outside the court, many of Hilton's dozens of supporters appeared devastated. One man screamed, "No! No! No!" as a court spokesman delivered the news to reporters.
 honest to god, they're all acting like she's being sent off to an execution chamber or something.

Karen64 06-08-2007, 11:03 PM I get so sick of hearing about Paris, but you know, this really isn't so much about HER as it is about JUSTICE and role models for young girls trying to be like the rich and famous "Bad Girls" club (Lindsay Lohan, Britney, etc)
The image of Paris sobbing in the back of a cop car heading to jail will, I hope, stike a chord with impressionable young fans.... If she were allowed to get away with this, then it would send a message that it's cool to party all the time, drink, then drive recklessly and not pay the consequences!

That is a very good point. When I see young famous people like Paris, Britney and Lindsay I'm actually glad I'm 30. I would hate to have to grow up with role models like those girls representing my generation.

I would hope that would make young people think twice, but instead, they are supporting her and they feel she got a raw deal, the justice system sucks, etc. If her own parents don't own up to what their adult daughter has done, why should some impressionable young teen girl?

Here Here. That is the simple truth. She was caught driving drunk. She got probation. She was ordered to do alcohol classes. She violated probation TWICE when she was caught driving. She also violated by not signing up for those classes...that makes violating the probation THREE TIMES. Then, she shows up to court a half-hour late! That will **** off any judge in any courtroom, civil or criminal. So here you have a spoiled, herpes infected broad who is sticking her nose up in the air and basically telling the courts SCREW YOU...I AM PARIS AND I AM RICH. catlover79 06-09-2007, 11:06 PM Paris Hilton not eating in jail, but won't appeal
By Nichola Groom
2 hours, 8 minutes ago
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Paris Hilton has not eaten or slept since arriving at the medical ward of a Los Angeles jail and is being given psychotropic drugs, celebrity Web site TMZ.com reported on Saturday, citing law enforcement sources.
Nevertheless, the socialite and hotel heiress said late on Saturday afternoon that she had told her attorneys not to appeal the order that sent her back to jail on Friday after a day of house arrest.
"Being in jail is by far the hardest thing I have ever done," Hilton, 26, said in a written statement issued by her attorney, Richard Hutton. "During the past several days, I have had a lot of time to think and I believe that I am learning and growing from this experience."
Hilton was ordered back to jail on Friday after a judge overruled a sheriff's decision to place her under house arrest because of psychological problems. She had spent three days of an expected three-week term behind bars.
The multimillionaire known for her party-going lifestyle was crying a lot and was very withdrawn, TMZ reported.
Hilton was visited by her psychiatrist, Dr. Charles Sophy, for more than two hours on Saturday morning. She was being held in a room by herself with a glass door that is guarded at all times, the report said.
TMZ also said Hilton was taking psychotropic medication, but did not specify which drug. Psychotropic medications affect a person's emotions and behavior and include drugs like lithium, which is taken for depression, and Valium, which eases anxiety.
Steve Whitmore, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County sheriff, declined to comment on the report. "Anything to do with her medical stuff I can't confirm or deny," he said.
A spokesman for Hilton could not immediately be reached for comment.
In her statement, Hilton thanked her fans for their good wishes and said she missed her family.
Hilton's early release by Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca sparked national outrage and accusations of preferential treatment because of her celebrity status.
On Saturday, however, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Sauer's order to return her to custody was sparking controversy, with television pundits and others debating whether he had overstepped his bounds in overruling Baca.
Hilton was sentenced to 45 days in jail last month for violating probation in a reckless case by driving on a suspended license.
On Friday she trembled and cried quietly throughout the hearing, then broke into loud sobs when the judge ordered her back into custody.
"Mom, Mom. It's not right," she wailed as she was led out of the courtroom. Her mother, Kathy Hilton, also sobbed.
In Saturday's statement, Hilton, whose face has graced the pages of gossip magazines for much of the last four years, said she was "shocked" by the attention her case has received.
"I would hope going forward that the public and the media will focus on more important things like the men and women serving our country in Iraq and other places around the world," she said.

YESS; I SAW IT!! YOU'RE RIGHT, HILARIOUS!!
Mysty Eyes 06-10-2007, 12:05 AM The only thing that I can say that would be pro-Paris in all of this is:
The sheriff should never have released her. Someone in the Hilton group (don't know who) said something to the effect that she is being treated like a football. I agree with that.
The sheriff should have left her in jail, got her the treatment that any other inmate receives, and gone through the proper procedures. She may very well have been released to in-home custody. But it wasn't his place to make that decision. So she would have had a day or two extra in jail, but she could have gone home. Now, she is in prison for the duration.
That's not fair to her, to put her through that emotional rollercoaster.

It wouldn't have been fair had she maimed or killed someone either.
The sheriff went by what a supposed psychiatrist had put in writing. How many other inmates in that same facility have mental issues, are having a hard time dealing with being incarcerated (rightly so or not), how many inmates threaten suicide while in custody and are put in a rubber room NAKED, until they are transferred to the county hospital for evaluation, then returned to the infirmary and kept on suicide watch. That is the procedure in L.A. County Jail. Why that wasn't followed through is the real question. But, it's over with, done with and that bubblehead needs to just accept that. Just like there are people who are wrongly arrested and are place in jail, she WAS FOUND GUILTY OF A CRIME AND THEREFORE NEEDS TO DO HER TIME.
treky 06-10-2007, 03:31 AM I heard that her attorny plans to file an appeal.
BUT; I just heard that she's going to ask him not to. Maybe she's FINALLY starting to come to her senses!

Ever think that it might be her own legal team who's caused a lot of this. They've made sure they sent a shrink in to visit her daily (and only her lawyers). Sounds to me like they planned the whole thing and set it up to be able to say that she was suicidal, couldn't hack it, was claustiphobic or whatever - anything to spring her out of there. They were able to convince the sheriff so they let her go. Then the courts said it wasn't up to them (true) and hauled her back.
They're grasping at straws. I still don't feel sorry for her one bit. Had she just sucked it up like anyone else, gone quietly - maybe with a bit of class for a change this all wouldn't have happened to her.
You make your bed - you lie in it. Period.
Mysty Eyes 06-10-2007, 12:23 PM You know what? Now I remember why I left this board to begin with.
I said that I have NO sympathy for Paris Hilton. Then I said that the sheriff was wrong to release her in the first place.
The only positive thing that I said in support of Hilton was that she was being taken on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, in the last couple of days. This is unfair and should not be done to anyone, including her.
But... I get terse responses, simply because I point out that part of this week's fiasco was caused by the sheriff. I don't care if she paid him to release her, I don't care if she batted her eyes at him, I don't care what her rich supporters did or did not do. The fact remains that the SHERIFF was at fault here.

It is not Sheriff Lee Baca's fault if the medical documents he was given were pretty much made to make Paris look like this loony who is going off the deep end. She sure as hell didn't look that way on the red carpet 24 hours before. She was enjoying the red carpet attention. Surely not the actions of a despondent, depressed, out of her mind person. Those medical documents stated she "went into the jail" already in that state of mind. Gimme a break here. It is so obvious her attorneys and her "doctor" dreamed this up before she even went into jail. As for the sheriff, it is not his fault for believing such nonsense made up medical garbage. However, it is his fault for not having her transferred to the county hospital and follow routine as he would have done for any other inmate.

Q&A About Paris Hilton's Jail Sentence
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Paris Hilton was in jail, then out, then back again as her bizarre case became more erratic than the driving that landed the hotel heiress in hot water.
On Saturday she was still behind bars, a long way from the red carpet she strolled down a week ago at the MTV Movie Awards, and the subject of endless Internet chatter and questions about her fate.
To help sort it out, here are some answers to those questions:
Q: Where is Hilton now?
A: The 26-year-old is undergoing medical and psychiatric examination at the Correctional Treatment Center at Los Angeles County's "Twin Towers" jail facility downtown.
Q: Does she have a cellmate?
A: No. "Most of the individuals in the Correctional Treatment Center are alone," said sheriff's department spokesman Steve Whitmore.
Q: Will she go back to the same isolated cell she was in earlier in the week at the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood?
A: Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca said he would determine the best place to house the heiress when he learns the results of her medical and psychiatric exams.
Q: How did she end up behind bars?
A: Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer originally sentenced Hilton in May to serve 45 days in jail for violating her probation in an alcohol-related reckless-driving case. She surrendered to sheriff's deputies on June 3 and was booked at the Lynwood jail. She was released Thursday with an electronic-monitoring bracelet to serve the remainder of her sentence at home. Sauer ordered her to appear in court Friday and sent her back to jail to complete her 45-day term.
Q: Why did the sheriff release Hilton in the first place?
A: Baca said the heiress' release was based on her "severe medical problems."
Q: What's wrong with her?
A: Baca said he couldn't reveal the exact nature of her condition because of confidentiality issues, but he characterized her problems as "psychological." Hilton's spokesman had no comment on her health.
Q: Is she a danger to herself?
A: Baca said Hilton is being temporarily housed at a facility that "has a more intense form of medical support and will watch her behavior so that there isn't anything that is harmfully done to herself by herself."
Q: Will the sheriff free her early again?
A: Only if the court shortens her sentence, Whitmore said. "We will comply with the court's decision."
Q: Will she serve all 45 days?
A: Probably not. Hilton will serve about 18 days, Baca said Friday. State law requires that inmates get time off their sentences for each day they serve. Hilton was expected to serve 23 days of her 45-day sentence. Hilton was credited with both her time served in jail and at home, so by Saturday she had completed seven days of her sentence.
Q: Are other inmates usually released before they've served their full terms?
A: Yes. County jails are overcrowded, Baca said, and most misdemeanor offenders serve just 10 percent of their sentence. "Under our 10 percent early release program, (Hilton) would have not served any time in our jail or would have been directly put on home electric monitoring system," he said Friday.
Q: Are other prisoners released because of medical conditions?
A: Yes. "It happens all the time," Whitmore said, depending on the nature of the offense. Nonviolent offenders typically serve 10 percent of their sentence, he said, adding that Hilton "has done twice as much (time) as any other person with a similar offense."
Q: Can Hilton appeal?
A: Hilton spokesman Elliot Mintz said he expected an appeal to be filed by Monday, but Hilton told her attorney on Saturday that she decided not to pursue the matter.
Q: If she changes her mind, what are the grounds for appeal?
A: Legal experts say that Hilton's attorney, Richard Hutton, will likely file a writ with an appellate court, possibly the superior court's appellate division, seeking an emergency hearing on whether the judge overstepped his authority in forcing Hilton's return to jail after the sheriff released her to home confinement.
Q: Will Hilton ever work in Hollywood again?
A: Of course.
Janice 06-10-2007, 02:42 PM I don't think I've ever seen such piling on, such venomous hate over a probation violation. I don't know the first thing about Hilton, and I'm not a fan. I agree that she should do the time. I've just never seen so many people take absolute delight in another person's misery. I don't know how anyone can look at her crying face in those pictures and laugh at it, actually get a good feeling out of it. Heartless. She's a young adult who made some mistakes and got herself in trouble. Maybe the fact that she's worth 50 million comes into play here. Who knows, but it ain't my bag.

I completely agree. I think the reason that I've been feeling somewhat sympathetic towards her is that people are acting like she murdered somebody. In the picture of her crying as she was being taken back to jail, people were acting like it was the funniest thing that they had ever seen, when I found it to be kind of disturbing. I can gaurantee that a lot of the people who were laughing at it would be crying too if they were in a similar situation. I'm not a fan of hers but I don't think that she deserves the shower of hatred that she has been getting from the public.

Yea I agree. I don't care for Paris Hilton and I'm glad she's going to jail but when I saw that picture I didn't find it funny at all. She might have serious problems and if she killed herself or something I don't know how anyone else would feel but it wouldn't make me feel to good.

its not that she violated her probation, she drove drunk and thought nothing of it. she was doing 70 like it was nothing while under the influence. i'm sure if she killed someone you'd think different. i dont wish death on the girl. i dont think its right that shes been getting special treatment because her parents have money. she thinks shes above everyone else. i dont really respect someone who throws out words like nigs, jap, jew etc etc like its nothing. I dont care if it was 2 years ago, shes never apologized for any of it. I think its sad that shes nearly 30 and has mommy and daddy still at her whim and is kicking and screaming over the results of her own actions. its who she is, which is an ugly person and shes proven that to the world. I believe in karma and shes certainly getting hers. Hopefully she learns from all of this.

Hopefully she will. If this doesn't straighten her out, nothing will. Her parents treating it like she was innocent doesn't help her either. Had I ever driven drunk, no matter what age, you'd be certain I'd be hearing a mouth full from my family. Hasn't this country learned already that drunk driving kills? Had she accepted her probation and not made excuses, I'd be the first one to say "good for her". She is taking her lumps. But she is one excuse after another.
I don't need to have a family member killed by a drunk driver to know the heartache it brings on. Thank God she didn't do that. But so many do. She needs to stop squealing and take it like an adult. I hope her latest "statement" rings true.
And it is so true. 3 weeks ain't sh*t. Boo hoo.

If if if. She didn't kill anyone, and she pled to a lesser charge of reckless driving, not a DUI. She's on tape throwing out the N word while dancing with a friend at a New Years Eve party, seven years ago, when she was 19. The other accusations are from a disgruntled friend or two.
There's nothing sad about still needing and reaching out to your parents when you're in your 20s. I cried on my mother's shoulders until the day she died. The driving charge isn't what she went to jail for anyway. She violated her probation. Stupid, no doubt, and like I stated before, she does deserve to go to jail. What she doesn't deserve is this over-the-top judgmental attitude from, well I guess, these perfect people.
Nobody has ever used the N word jokingly when they were young. Nobody's ever driven recklessly when they were young. My gay brother was here last week, and he called himself a queer and a f ag half the night. Blacks call each other the N word. You should hear what my brother's gay black friend calls himself. Things are not always as they seem.

It's called compassion Tim. What has Paris ever done to you or anyone? I can't figure out your moral system. Anna Nicole was great, although she was a drug addict. Do you think her son didn't suffer, having a mother like that? Of course he did. You hate Lindsay Lohan, I think. I dont mind Anna because she worked for her fame and money. Despite the drugs I never thought she was a bad person. Paris is just worthless. Anna Nicole Smith came from nothing and worked her way up to get to where she was. Never would you hear her talking about people that way Paris does like shes so above everyone.

You know Janice, that is the thing that rubs me the wrong way with her. The pure stupidity. It is assinine and it makes no sense whatsoever. Sure, ok, young adults want to party and drink. Most young adults don't have the luxury of having a limo driver/chauffer. Most young adults have to rely on a designated driver. Some don't and suffer the consequences. I don't care that this girl enjoys her life, parties, drinks, does drugs, has sex...etc., just don't drive under the influence where you can kill someone! Don't endanger another person's life. There is NO REASON WHATSOEVER for her to have been driving under the influence when she had resources to avoid that. Not so many young adults have the resources she has.
I agree, just like the Kennedys and any other well-to-do person who has resources/access to have someone else drive their drunk asses.
Janice 06-10-2007, 08:27 PM I dont mind Anna because she worked for her fame and money. Despite the drugs I never thought she was a bad person. Paris is just worthless. Anna Nicole Smith came from nothing and worked her way up to get to where she was. Never would you hear her talking about people that way Paris does like shes so above everyone.
Worthless? You don't get to decide the worth of a person. That big DUI (which wasn't), she was on the threshold. That could happen to anyone who's had a couple of beers or wine. I'm not excusing it, but it's not as if she was bombed out of her mind, because she wasn't. It's also not Paris's fault that she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth.
You know I have sympathy for people that have drug problems, but if you're going compare who was the worse person, I'd say that's Anna. She was loaded half her life. I know the life my nephews and niece had because of their addicted mothers. Paris isn't ruining some child's life, and then some.

I dont really have much to respond to that, but if you've been following Paris Hilton like most people have you are likely to have 0 sympathy for her, as you can see. How Anna and Paris's current situation are comparable is beyond me, so.

Paris has plenty of support. I'm comparing Anna and Paris to try to get a handle on who gets a pass and why, with you. Anna destroyed her life, her son's life, on and on. Left her infant daughter motherless. Paris is a party girl who got herself in a legal jam. Both of them with the porn, abortions, drugs. Paris gets your hate. Anna gets your respect. It's a fair comparison.

catlover79 06-10-2007, 10:02 PM I don't wish her harm. I'm just mad that just because of her name and her money, she'd entitled to special treatment and priviledges. It also ticks me off how she and her family think and act like they are so much better than everyone else. Despite their zillions, you can't buy class...or a clue, as it were.
dawsongirl 06-10-2007, 10:39 PM Now people are suddenly moral.
So what if I said she should kill herself? Hell, I'd be trying too if I were in her place. Serious. But you know who would try to save me?? Who would let me out of jail?? NO ONE. Not one god damn person. They'd shove me in a rubber room and tell me to suck it up. That's what I hate her for...because since she's rich and whines a lot, she gets saved.

You'd try to kill yourself if you were her? Kinda short-sighted for just a few weeks, and then back into the life of luxury. If anyone tries to kill themselves in prison, I'm sure they get attention. They don't get sent home, but they're not ignored.
MonarC 06-10-2007, 11:17 PM I know it's jail but it's not that bad. All you have to do is just try and relax. Sleep, read a book. Write about your experiences. Anything it takes to get it out of your head that your stuck there. It's only 20 days. I have been grounded for longer than that.

I think it's because she's led such a pampered life, that it seems like five years for her. My sister had to go to jail for three weeks for a second DUI. She stressed about it for months and months, and then said it was actually nice in an odd way. She was in a minimum security place in New Hampshire. Unfortunately, it didn't teach her any lessons, as she died two years later from drugs and alcohol.
MonarC 06-10-2007, 11:22 PM Oh wow. Sorry to hear that. :(

well although i don't sympathize paris for her sentence and i've never been to jail myself, i know people who have been, and it's usually not a place where you can go and relax. there's a reason it's used as a form of punishment. you make it sound like it's similar to staying in a hotel room.
Brian Damage 06-10-2007, 11:36 PM I don't think I've ever seen such piling on, such venomous hate over a probation violation. Good Lord, people whom I usually respect here, just out of their minds with pure unadulterated HATE. Ohhh...she might have herpes, ooooohhh, maybe even an abortion...ohhhh a racial slur years ago that she apologized for....ohhhh tried to get out of prison early. Acting like she murdered someone. What a sickening feeding frenzy. Some even wishing her death. Talk about kicking someone when they're down. Disgusting.
I agree Janice, it is hard to relate to Paris when people never suffered with an addiction to booze or drugs. She is young with money... a dangerous combination. She needs help, no doubt, but to wish her death is childish.

I didn't even realize anyone said Paris should die. That is carrying it too far. That crosses the line. I don't wish her death nor anyone elses. Except for those who have killed children.
Anyhoo, those photographers get $$$$$ for that "million dollar shot". That is how they pay their bills. It is their job. I don't like the papparrazzi, I abhor what they do. I can't do anything abt it though. I feel the sheriffs could have blocked the street somehow, but you can't block that ZOOM POWER LENS.

"Today I told my attorneys (my PR guy told me to give it up) not to appeal the judge's decision. While I greatly appreciate the Sheriff's concern for my health and welfare (drama act didn't work and Daddy can't help me:livid: ), after meeting with doctors I intend to serve my time as ordered by the judge.
During the past several days, I have had a lot of time to reflect and have already learned (where is my waxer and make up?) a bitter, but important lesson from this experience (pay larger bribes).
As I have said before, I hope others will learn from my mistake (pay larger bribes). I have also had time to read the mail from my fans (I am so totally deep in my soul searching).
I must also say that I was shocked to see all of the attention devoted to the amount of time I would spend in jail (no I wasn't ) for what I had done by the media, public and city officials (hmm, maybe this could reflect bad on me, better redirect focus). I would hope going forward (maybe I should appear not so self absorbed ) that the public and the media will focus on more important things, patriot: like the men and women serving our country ( oh yes, how Angelina I appear) in Iraq, Afghanistan (where is that again? ) and other places around the world."
And when I left the courtroom in tears, screaming, "Mom, Mom, Mom.... "It's not right (Mommy help me:crying: )." I was truly ready to face my time as a strong responsible (for Christ sake bail me out????) adult. As my friend said, “she was taken by surprise when she was restrained from hugging her mom and dad (she actually said that without laughing???),” the friend tells PEOPLE.
“That’s all she wanted to do – give them a hug (so they could slip me some cash or cigarettes). She was startled and spontaneously yelled (hey, maybe I can fake Turrets). Wouldn’t most people? But she was not protesting. Just surprised and frightened ( maybe life isn't so simple after all....:shocked ).”

Who says Paris is an addict of any sort? I really don't think she has a drug or alcohol problem. She has a problem with authority and believes she's above the law. That's what got her in so much trouble. One DUI charge does not an addict make.
As Irene says, she has every resource in the world and could (and should have) simply hired a driver after she was charged and her license suspended. Hell, she has enough friends she really doesn't even need a driver. Just ONE friend in the bunch who's responsible and says they'll act as designated driver that night.
I wish her no harm, but YES, I AM getting a kick out of how she's handling this. Us 'po folk like to see the ultra rich and SPOILED see what real life is like - even if it's for a paltry 43 days. If she didn't flaunt her crap and put down people who aren't in her financial bracket the other 322 days out of the year we would have a lot more sympathy for her. Had Anna Nicole gone to jail I would have felt genuinely bad for her. Not Paris - sorry.

traderjane 06-11-2007, 01:27 PM This scenario is interesting for many reasons. You have a rich, sheltered, spoiled socialite placed in this spot light due to her errors. Numerous videos and media clips have shown her acting rudely towards others, with complete disregard to those she hurts. Is she aware of the repercussions of her actions?
Doubt it.
Now the tables are turned for probably the first time in her life. It is interesting watching her reactions. Now she is being faced with some repercussions of her actions. Is she doing soul searching and contemplating where she went wrong? No, she is calling Barbara Walters. More press, more attention. Amazing, she has become a whole new person in 2 days. Yah, right.
I'm not doing a happy dance. I merely find it fascinating how she thinks she is fooling anyone.
I have a prediction however. She will be released, do some gestures of charity for around 3 months, then return to her previous existence.

What's wrong with speaking to Walters to get her message out? You Paris haters are a riot. It reminds me of BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome). There's NOTHING Paris can do that will satisfy the bloodlust of some. She doesn't apologize, she sucks. She apologizes, she's full of it. Paris does do charity work. She's done a lot for Toys For Tots.
http://www.parishiltonsite.net/charitywork.php (http://www.parishiltonsite.net/charitywork.php)
Before you read this, please note that Paris Hilton is not a humanitarian or a charity worker. She doesn't own billion dollars as the media makes you believe and she is not the only rich person who should donate to charity. Paris is mainly and first and foremost an entertainer and a businesswoman.
Many people do not know this, mostly because the media never reports it since it does not fit the image of Paris Hilton they try to portray, but Paris has been doing charity fundraising since she was a small child. She was inspired to do this by her mother, Kathy Hilton, who also does charity work. And Kathy has always encouraged her family and children to do charity work since they were little.
Paris, for instance, works more with children fundraising. Moreover, she is also involved in finding solutions for those who suffer from breast cancer. She often visits many children hospitals, and works for children's charities specialized in multiple sclerosis and AIDS cases. She's also an animal activist because as you may already know, she is a huge animal lover (and has promised to never wear real fur again after she was shown a cruel animal killing video). Furthermore, she helps those who are less fortunate and live in homeless shelters. You may remember seeing her giving a 100$ bill to a homeless man who was asking her for some money. A few years ago, a photo of Conrad Hilton, her younger brother, giving money to another homeless man he meet on his way surfaced on the internet.
In addition, many times, she goes through all her stuffs, makes a huge closet sale and donates all the money to charity. She especially did one for the Tsunami Relief. The Hilton family does this once a year as well. She always donates a countless number of old and new clothes to charity and even to her fans. Another way of raising money is by attending to a party, getting paid and giving the entire sum to charity.
When asked how much she has donated to charity so far, Paris replied by saying that she did not know and had to ask her "money manager".
From a personal view point, it is frustrating to see that people expect and pressure Paris to donate money to charity, just because she is "very rich." Actually, the reason why there's a big expectation is not because she is rich. There are many heirs, heiresses and rich people in their 20s or 30s who never work or do charity. No hater complains about them for not donating money. The real reason why they strongly pressure Paris is because they are jealous of, not only her money and inheritance, but also because she is too famous and pretty. But worse than that, the majority of them really have no idea that she earns her own money.
Certainly the hardcore haters will always react negatively when Paris gives 20$ or even 100$ to a homeless person. They either say "Oh, it's not good to give money to a homeless man. He'll buy a beer with it" or "That's not enough. Pay him more!" But the bottom line is that Paris Hilton does charity work time to time.

Poll: Majority Says Paris Hilton’s Plight Good for America (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1848395/posts)
An overwhelming majority of Americans say they’ve never felt better about themselves than during the past several weeks as they follow the story of Paris’ Hilton’s conviction and incarceration.
“It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” said one poll respondent, a resident of suburban Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. “Just knowing that rich, famous, beautiful people can be miserable, pathetic losers gives me hope that my own troubled existence may have meaning. I can’t get enough of this story on TV. Every moment is like a multivitamin for my ego.”
Indeed, some 87 percent of those polled said they relished feeling superior to someone who, according to cultural norms, should be considered superior to them. In brief, researchers say their findings show: “What’s bad for Paris Hilton is good for America.”
“The lower she sinks, the higher I soar,” said a unnamed dental hygienist from Eugene, Oregon. “You know, I just don’t feel so bad anymore about the stupid things I’ve done, or about my failure to achieve my dreams. It’s a comfort just knowing that despite all of her money, I’m a better person than Paris Hilton.”
The CBS News/New York Times survey also showed that, 58 percent of Americans were willing to see Ms. Hilton suffer further disgrace, prolonged imprisonment or even death for the good of the nation.
treky 06-11-2007, 03:42 PM well, the latest is she says she's "changed". In her words "God has set me free". The video of Barbera Walters talking to her on THE VIEW is at abc.com
