Don't count on it. Give it two months before they yank it off just like they did with ALICE.

That's the sucky part. I like some popular shows that are rerun like Friends, Roseanne, even some of the years of Designing Women. And networks today absolutely ruin the rerun experience by running the popular shows into the ground and letting dust collect on those that aren't 1/10th as popular. Today, the way channels like to try and shove the same shows over and over again down our throats, I don't blame folks for having some hate towards those shows and/or finding them overrated.
EmoJoe 06-08-2007, 08:39 PM they're probably gonna bring all of the "cancelled" shows back once they expand. they're just testing out all the shows now.
freshprinceofLA 06-09-2007, 02:30 AM At least they put this back on! I knew this was gonna happen I mention this in a thread called could wtb? come to ION? Anyways I'm glad! This could actually be a good sign that season 2 on dvd might be comming?????
EmoJoe 06-09-2007, 02:26 PM ^i think it's time to give up on season 2, lol.

If you are hoping that then you will be in for a HUGE surprise when you WTB On ION-lol
Mr. Television 06-09-2007, 04:12 PM That's the sucky part. I like some popular shows that are rerun like Friends, Roseanne, even some of the years of Designing Women. I agree with you. I like TCS, Roseanne, Fresh Prince, Full House etc. but I don't watch them because they get rerunned to death. If I did I might start hating them.
catnap1972 06-10-2007, 11:13 PM If you are hoping that then you will be in for a HUGE surprise when you WTB On ION-lol
Like everyone is alluding to, expect "hacked to pieces" and it to be dropped within a few months.

The Editors at ION went to the JIM BOB SCHOOL OF EDITING-lol
Ireneparalegal 06-11-2007, 12:17 AM The Editors at ION went to the JIM BOB SCHOOL OF EDITING-lol
Maybe the guy who does the editing is JIM BOB. Well, whoever it is, WTB won't be the show that all the fans are expecting. Expect long commercial breaks...expect Angela to be speaking to Tony and in the middle of her sentence...COMMERCIAL! When they come back to the show, they won't return to that scene...they will go skip two whole scenes.

And we're also forgetting about ION's liberal use of time compression! Herky-jerky motion throughout the show, and the closing theme playing at multiple speeds during the same episode!
You true WTB fans are in for a real treat! :p :D

And the Designing Women fans as well. I mean all that bad stuff occurs on all the shows they air, there are no exceptions. Bad lighting, chop chop editing, too many commercials, bad color, theme music out of whack.
TALLguyinKY 06-11-2007, 08:15 PM I love WTB? and DW, but with ION's track record of "Alice" and "Amen", I'm not holding out for high expectations. :-/

honestly, it's been treated like crap on basically every other network it's been on so it's not like we're not used to it. as long as it's on. hopefully it gets at LEAST decent treatment on ION.
i really dont understand what the big deal is, sorry Alice was treated well but you dont have to go in all of the WTB threads and say how its going to be treated like crap and how we shouldn't be looking foward to it.

Well it makes sense, if ION slices up eps badly of other shows what makes you think it won't happen with WTB?-lol We are just giving up a Heads up

True. I mean, I would like to know what I am in for. I wish someone had warned me of the dismal look of ALICE and what to expect. ION is the worst from what they have demonstrated.
EmoJoe 06-12-2007, 08:41 PM im just glad its airing, and at a decent timeslot at that, even if its just for a few months.
Pavan 06-12-2007, 08:49 PM Alice may have been really badly edited, but Amen wasn't that bad. Yes, the theme was on speed, but the actual episodes the editing was way better than Alice. Wonder Years doesn't seem as harsh either.
Buffyboy323 06-27-2007, 02:24 AM honestly, it's been treated like crap on basically every other network it's been on so it's not like we're not used to it. as long as it's on. hopefully it gets at LEAST decent treatment on ION.

Me too! I'm just going to sit back and relax, watching Who's The Boss? all summer long. Afterall, I'm not watching any other show this summer....well, excpet for this little show about 2 ditzy blonds. :D
Scoobiedoo30 06-29-2007, 02:59 PM one week and counting
TALLguyinKY 06-29-2007, 06:51 PM I'm not going to start recording the show, until I see how the edits are. ION has a habbit of airing 4 commercials in a half hour! Yes, 4!
Why? Wouldn't it be better to start taping it right from the start, in case the edits are fine? That way you can have as much WTB? as you can get while it's on, in order from the pilot. :)
I've started taping "Designing Women", and ION only puts in 2 commercial breaks! :D
Scoobiedoo30 06-29-2007, 07:47 PM I do not have a VCR
musicradio77 06-29-2007, 11:27 PM Good move for ION. I remember when Nick at Nite ran "Who's the Boss?" since 2005, that bombed! Last year, when WWOR-TV came back again for another shot, that didn't last long when it was on during the morning and it got pulled. I'm glad that "Who's the Boss?" is going to ION, congratulations! I'll have to stop watching "Charmed" for awhile and turned to WTB.
Scoobiedoo30 06-30-2007, 01:59 AM WWOR Channel 9 should have aired Who's The Boss at 7:00 pm Easten Timenstead of 8:30 am Easten Time.
I fear that will happen.
I hate to agree with you, but I think you're right. I still don't understand why they don't pull the plug on that paid programming that probably no one watches anyway.
Scoobiedoo30 07-06-2007, 03:35 PM I do not watch The Paid Programming on Ion but I will be watching Ion when they add More Hours.

I won't be recording the first episodes anyway. I'm probably going to get the DVD, one day. I never bothered to buy it all this time, because I didn't really want it. Now I relaize just how much I miss this show, LOL.
I'm glad to hear they commercial like a normal channel, during Designing Women.
And it appears ION is showing some random episodes on Monday and Tuesday night, then starting from the Pilot on Wednesday. We`ll be able to see how the edits are, before they actually start the cycle. That's good news.

There's really nothing catching my eyes in primetime now so I can't wait. A night of Mama's Family and WTB? sounds fun to me. I'd love to catch up on WTB? again. I didn't quite get to do it when it was on N@N.
Scoobiedoo30 07-07-2007, 01:15 PM it is also most here I cant wait
freshprinceofLA 07-07-2007, 05:40 PM too bad its not airing on fridays but.. what the hell at least wtb? is getting aired! Can't wait 2 more days!
freshprinceofLA 07-09-2007, 03:56 PM wooo today everbody tune in 9pm &9:30
TVFactFan 07-09-2007, 06:12 PM wooo today everbody tune in 9pm &9:30
That's actually a very nice slot. By 9pm most working people have winded down and eaten their dinner and in position to relax and watch TV. I think that's why Alice didn't do well because 7pm is just not a good slot
Scoobiedoo30 07-10-2007, 01:15 AM I enjoyed watching Who's The Boss on Ion at 8:00 pm and 8:30 pm
bellbm 07-11-2007, 12:41 AM And the episodes don't look like swiss cheese. They are only taking two commerical breaks, both at their intended points in the show.
These look like the syndicated prints that would have been used when show went into first run syndication in 1989.
JulieSomoski 07-11-2007, 11:43 AM I haven't enjoyed anything else in quite awhile! The editing done on this show is not bad at all, and with only 2 commercial breaks, it's great quality! I really applaud ION with such a great job on this show!
Now ION has become my summer station to watch. First it's Mama's Family at 8pm, Who's the Boss? at 9pm, and The Wonder Years at 10pm for me.

As I'd posted in the other thread, ION probably didn't need to cut any more since the most recent Program Exchange cuts are likely enough to fit in the desired ad time for now.

actually, the N@N/Program Exchange ones are different then the ION ones i think.
Scoobiedoo30 07-13-2007, 03:38 PM does anyone know how the ratings for Who's The Boss? is doing at 8:00 pm and 8:30 pm Central Time
JulieSomoski 07-13-2007, 05:22 PM we probably won't know ratings until we see ION"S August schedule. If ti's still on, it's probably doing well!
And did anyone notice, though that that commercials in this show are a little longer than normal commercials. On Tuesday, the episode's second commercial was about 4 minutes long.
Scoobiedoo30 07-13-2007, 05:51 PM when will we fine out the August Schedule for Ion
JulieSomoski 07-13-2007, 09:20 PM It's just been posted, an thankfully, there aren't any changes to the schedule, which means Who's the boss? is still on, which means hopefully it must be doing well! I didn't watch last night, since I just watched the season 1 episodes last weekend, but I'll be watching for season 2, cause I love the season 2 opener at the camp! Can't wait!
Scoobiedoo30 07-13-2007, 09:26 PM What is season 2 opener
JulieSomoski 07-13-2007, 09:37 PM I'm pretty sure it's the episode where Tony and Angela discover that they first met when they went to the same camp when they were children, and they shared a kiss down by Makeout Rock, then have to spend the night with each other in the same room thanks to a thunder storm. One of my favorite episodes by far!

Yep that's the 2 part season 2 opener. Its one of the top 5 episodes of the whole show. Its a great episode
Scoobiedoo30 07-14-2007, 03:28 PM maybe they will add Friday's someday
JulieSomoski 07-14-2007, 08:17 PM Yep that's the 2 part season 2 opener. Its one of the top 5 episodes of the whole show. Its a great episode
It's probably my favorite episode of the whole series, besides the 3-part finale, which is a classic.
I don't understand why they can't air it on Friday. Does anyone even watch those movies they air all weekend anyway? They are the cheapest movies you could possibly find on TV, and I{'m sure most people would much rather sitcoms on Friday night.

Because it's engraved in all the programming people brains at these tv stations that more than half of america is not watching TV on Friday Night at 9pm. Which to me has always bee a stupid mentality of the people who make programming decisions
Pavan 08-06-2007, 01:55 PM "Who's the Boss?" Launch Boosts ION Television Ratings
Women and Adults Ages 25-54 Increase 41% and 33%
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Primetime airings of "Who's The Boss?" have delivered significant ratings increases among key adult demographics on ION Television, the network announced today. In the first two weeks following the popular program's July 9 debut, viewership in its 9-10 PM timeslot season-to-date increased 41 percent in women 25-54, and 33 percent in adults 25-54.
During the weeks of July 9 and 16, "Who's The Boss?" delivered 175,000 household impressions for women 25-54, and 259,000 impressions for adults 25-54, the highest weekly impressions performance in the 9-10 PM hour season-to-date.
"'Who's The Boss?' fits seamlessly into our lighthearted weekday sitcom line-up and struck an instant chord with our audience," said Brandon Burgess, CEO, ION Media Networks. "Following our recent launch of family movie weekends in partnership with RHI Entertainment, ION Television provides an attractive platform for consumers and advertisers interested in quality family entertainment."
Benefiting from a solid "Who's the Boss?" lead-in, "Wonder Years" enjoyed a six percent ratings increase in households and women 25-54 in its 10-11 PM timeslot during the weeks of July 9 and 16, representing a season-to-date increase of 22 percent.
ION Television's primetime weekday evening rating increases follow the recent launch of ION's new weekend programming partnership with RHI Entertainment, whereby RHI serves as ION's exclusive television programming supplier on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Since the start of the RHI and ION partnership, which began the weekend of June 29th with the digitally re-mastered, Emmy award-winning miniseries "Lonesome Dove," Saturday night household impressions on ION Television have experienced a 55 percent increase over season-to-date figures.
EmoJoe 08-06-2007, 01:56 PM YESS. finally, a network WTB? suceeds on. :woohoo:

I could be dreaming right now. I don't want anything more than another season released on DVD.
I just found out that the 2-parter "It happened one summer" is one tonight, at the same time the finale of "Hell's Kitchen" airs. I've really wanted to see the 2 parter of Who's the Boss? but I also am dying to see who wins Hell's Kitchen. Now it makes me wonder even more why ION scheduled these episodes out of order.

You should be able to record one while watching the other since both are regular channels. So While you are watching Hell's Kitchen you can be reciording WTB and watch at 10pm
Scoobiedoo30 08-06-2007, 08:12 PM why dont you tape Who's The Boss?
Classicshowsgurl15 08-07-2007, 05:03 PM I'm glad that its doing well. The Wonder Years is doing well also. I'm happy about that too.
roseanne88-97, i'm sure your already taping WTB?, but when I would watch Studio 60, The Wonder Years would be on at the same time and I would tape The Wonder Years and watch Studio 60. They are going in order on WTB? starting Thursday. I just went to ION and they are going to be shown in order after Wenesday.:)
Classicshowsgurl15 08-07-2007, 05:34 PM The Wonder Years has been cheated like **** on a stick too. I got so pissed, I stopped watching it. :(

I'm not going to start recording the show, until I see how the edits are. ION has a habbit of airing 4 commercials in a half hour! Yes, 4!....Hell, I thought abcfamily was bad (cutting to a commercial mid-scene). The difference is at least they aired a full scene afterwards-LOL.....I am adding WTB? to my season pass, but I don't expect the show to be in it's best format.
I never saw The Wonder Years when it was on ABC Family or Nick at Nite, so I don't really now how badly it was edited, but I got really mad when they showed the last episode and cut out alot of the scene in the barn when they were kissing like the showed part of it and there was a commercial break and when it came back it was at the parade part. I was so ticked off because I waited to see that kissing scene because its really a defining moment. I was just so mad that alot of it got cut out.
Last night when they showed It Happened One Summer on WTB? They edited that alot too.
JulieSomoski 08-08-2007, 05:17 PM I taped, but I just wanted to watch it when it was on. Then, I hate to wait until the next day to watch it, because I watch the Wonder years at 10. Anyways, I already have season 2 and 3 taped from when NAN aired it, so I haven't been taping anything lately.
catnap1972 08-29-2007, 09:49 PM It's a shame (albeit not unexpected) that WTB suffers the same time compression issues that most of ION's other series have suffered with. Several times during any given episode you'll see where the tape appears to either jump or stop for a split second (and occasionally more than once in succession)...I'm pretty certain it's their infernal "Time Machine" that's causing it (and all done to shoehorn some more commercials in).

I've seen it happen once or twice, but not all the time. I'd say ION is doing a pretty good job with WTB?

I stopped watching WTB because TV land has the Jeffersons on at 9pm-10pm. So ION has to make a move-lol

Oh, I forgot about that! Although, I have seen most of The Jeffersons episodes continously, so I think I'll still to WTB? I'm hoping for their fall lineup in October they'll move it 8pm.

yeah depending on what eps they are showing of the jeffersons, some nights i will turn to ION. I forgot ION is closed on the weekends so no WTB tonight-lol
musicradio77 11-01-2007, 11:07 AM I have ION Channel, so It's a great idea to watch "Who's the Boss?". Good move for ION. I remember seeing that show on Nick at Nite, but it didn't work, so Nick at Nite pulled the plug on that. I love to see that show with a young Allysa Milano before she played a Charmed One, Phoebe on "Charmed".
And by the way, WWOR-TV also pulled the plug last year when it was in mornings. That also didn't work, also.
tiff7 11-02-2007, 05:38 PM I have ION & watch WTB everyday! :)
dreams200377 11-05-2007, 03:20 PM me too. :)
Pavan 12-13-2007, 05:37 PM Who's the Boss will move to 10-11pm starting Jan. 1:

Scoobiedoo30 12-13-2007, 06:09 PM This is great News that Who's The Boss? is moving to 9:00 pm and 9:30 pm Central Time.
nlowen1 01-12-2008, 07:50 PM im really excited that they're replaying it from the beginning :D yaaaaaaay!
i thought at first that they would yank it off once season 8 ended but im glad that it's still airing on ION, and hopefully i can catch up on the few episodes i missed the last time they aired (like the summer camp episodes from season 2)
dreams200377 01-14-2008, 12:56 PM Ooh, I love that one. It's probably one of my all-time favorite WTB episodes. :) There are some I missed last time too, so I hope I get to see them this time around. :)
Carrie 02-19-2008, 03:53 PM I hope ION brings WTB? back. They're showing Drew Carey from 9:00-11:00 this week. Anyone heard any news on this?
Pavan 02-19-2008, 04:22 PM Who's the Boss? is now gone.
Scoobiedoo30 02-19-2008, 04:43 PM when you mean Do you mean that it is just on Hiatus or the contract expired
Carrie 02-20-2008, 09:55 AM Who's the Boss? is now gone.
That's very disappointing. It wasn't even on there a year. I wonder why? I thought the ratings were pretty good. :(
Scoobiedoo30 02-20-2008, 01:16 PM I take it The Contract for Who's The Boss? Expired
Jude The Obscure 02-20-2008, 01:38 PM WTB started off strong, but slowly dwindled and I'm sure the time slot change was the final nail in the coffin.
Scoobiedoo30 02-20-2008, 01:41 PM we should e-mail The Network and tell them we want our Tony and Angel back does anyone have an e-mail address for Ion
spunkygirl 02-20-2008, 06:55 PM Is there a link where I can find out if ION is available in my area???
TVFactFan 02-20-2008, 07:01 PM WTB started off strong, but slowly dwindled and I'm sure the time slot change was the final nail in the coffin.
I will bet my next paycheck that if Mama's Family was aired at 10pm that it would do poorly in the ratings too
Scoobiedoo30 02-22-2008, 12:54 PM I belive Mama's Family will stay at 7:00 pm and 7:30 pm Central Time on Ion
Scoobiedoo30 03-01-2008, 01:02 PM Do you think Who's The Boss? will ever return to The Ion Schedule
