wonder years needs to go worst show ever whos the boss is cool though dang alice did not last 2 long good to see mama.s family stil on about only show on the channell that actually stayed on this long

Who's The Boss? is a great addition. Bit of a bummer about Perfect Strangers though, hopefully it will be added in August or September. Could do without Designing Women.

Wonder Years must be doing well which has me excited! Too bad about "Alice" though but it'll be nice to see "Designing" and "Boss" in primetime after how crappy N@N treated those shows

I love the early years of Designing Women and I'll want to see those eps, however, I am sad to see Alice go too. I watched almost every night, and to me it really showed signs of picking up.

If you are doing an interview with ION in the future, can you take some questions from us here on S.O. and pass those questions on to ION? I would like to ask them "What are they thinking with all those paid programming slots?" Also, "Why add "Alice" only to yank it off after a few months?"

I have more questions but they are smart-ass questions that I don't think is appropriate for this board.

Wow, these 2 shows would be the ones I never would have thought ION would add to their lineup, but I couldn't be happier that they did. Really looking forward to Who's the Boss?, plus its at a great slot. Now I don't have to sit through an hour of AFV and Full House on Nick at Nite!

I could also do without Designing Women. It's already airing 4 times a week on NAN, plus its coming to TV Land this October. There are so many other 80's shows to air, yet they picked this one.

I wonder why they didn't expand there hours. I thought this was the month we were going to see that happen. It seems to me like they are a bit scared to expand there lineup, because they already get enough money from informercials.

I'm happy to see WTB, but what is the holdup with the expansion??? They give these dates for expansion and we get excited, but nothing ever happens.

Is TV Land still supposed to start airing DW in October? If so, that has "flop" written all over it, IMO.

Yawn. That's it? LOL.

I'm a little ticked Alice is being removed.

Ion REALLY needs to expand and stop pushing shows in and out.

ION sucks. They only show a series for a couple months and then they're gone. About the only show that get's treated good is Mama's Family.

i think people are being a little too hard on ION...it'll most likely get all of the shows back once it expands (assuming they do).

I'm really bummed out about Perfect Strangers -- it's one of my favorite shows -- hopefully it will be added to the ION schedule in August.

To those who are excited abt these shows that are "coming to ION"...don't get too excited. We (Brian, Solomon, Sonny, JAlanRuss and the others) were excited too abt Alice coming to ION...LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENED!!!!!!:mad: So, enjoy your shows while they last. :crazy:

Personally, I think people need to cut ION some slack. You can't just tell companies that they can no longer advertise during the time that they paid to advertise. You can't just take an infomercial off.

They're obviously using the limited time to see what is and isn't working. When they expand, they'll probably bring back the shows that were around the longest ("Green Acres," "Amen," "Charlie's Angels," "Alice," "Battlestar Galactica").

They're not even a year old yet, so they are still very much in the developmental stages.

Ha I knew this would happen =)! I'm glad it did!!!!! Can't Wait to tune into who's the boss?!!

I agree we're a little hard on Ion but who cares ... it has been almost a year. They need to finally expand.

And there was no need to dump Alice. They could of had just one airing of Designing Women and then have Alice. Heck, there was no need to dump Amen, either. Alice didn't get double airings! Why are these shows different? I love them too, so that's why this is frustrating.

yeah, people just need to give it time. they really do need to expand soon though. -_-

People have to understand they can't just remove the infomercials just like that. They probably have to air them for awhile to help pay for the network. Like JT said, they haven't even been around for a year yet. Last August really is when this network started to really be aggressive again. Believe me, when they can remove the infomercials, they will remove them...don't you think they want to?? They certainly have plans to bring back shows like Growing Pains, Alice and Charlie's Angels. Just be patient. Everything will be addressed in our potential interview with them.

When they finally can expand, just think how good this channel can be. Even less than 12 hours, say 3pm-11pm, would make this channel amongst the best out there.

I wouldn't be as upset if they at least let a show go through one run before it was replaced. I'm not downing WTB because I do like that show. Designing Women is another thing though :rolleyes: but even that if they would hold off replacing shows until their cycle is done it would be a lot better.

Well, see, that's another thing. A lot of people are looking at ION as their 80s network, and others are looking at it as their sitcoms-only network.

They have so many diverse shows from all eras, I really don't think it'd be right for them to have so many shows but only focus on a particular era or genre.

I guess on the plus side Alice lasted longer on ION than Evening Shade did on CMT and The Hogan Family did on Hallmark ( or was it ABC Family? I forget which one it was) .lol

Instead of giving us an hour of DW, MF, and WTB, couldn't we get like a half hour of each, and still air Alice, Amen, and Growing Pains? That just seems like it would make everyone happy instead of pushing shows in and out.

I still think DW was a bad addition. They should of added something else . . .

Well.... Good-Bye Alice and BattleStar Galactica! I voted for Alice to come to ION, and I hardly got to see it. It moved times once I believe. And I was just getting into BattleStar! I turn it on AS SOON as I walk in the door from work on Sunday evenings!!

Nice about WTB? ... but I'd MUCH rather see Silver Spoons!!!

I know. I enjoy season three and eps througout the 80's. Well back to IN2 TV for me.

I was so looking forward to a lot of real good episodes. We won't get to see Flo's goodbye!

Also, that infamous episode where Mel's mom and Alice sing "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?" in those short dresses. YIKES!

Wow, Who's the Boss? at 9. very cool! If I was a betting man, I'd say it won't stick around long but regardless, it'll be nice to have it back on the air for however long...the longer the better obviously!

I think Alice may be back. After all they did bring back AMEN, even if they did take it off again.

Who's the Boss? is a great addition. When I was on vacation in Pennsylvania a few years ago NYC's UPN 9 was on the cable at the hotel and they used to show Who's the Boss in the morning. I enjoyed it.

I'm glad that The Wonder Years is staying on. I love that show and I'm trying to tape all of them so when they start over I can get all of them.
Who's the Boss? will be nice to see on tv again. I like that show.

The Wonder is going through one run and they are still starting that over. I think that's doing really well on ION and I'm glad because its a great show.

Bummer about Alice! WTB?--I can take it or leave it, but I'm happy that its fans can have a place to view it. DW, I truly do love and it had a LONG LONG run on Lifetime. It could stand to rest awhile. I sincerely hope we finally get some straight answers on when the hours will expand. When Ion was still Pax, what did Pax do? Sign a decade long contract on informercials? LOL

I think they have the potential to be a really good network, except for some of their editing (but hey, you can't have everything!). I understand that the 1978 classic TV series Battlestar Galactica (w/Richard Hatch, Dirk Benedict and Lorne Greene) was recently on ION Television. Is NBC Universal ever going to digitally remaster the 1978 classic series via CGI technology, the way Star Trek: The Original Series was digitally remastered?

Saturday Night Household Impressions Increase 55 Percent; Key Demos Tuning in For Popular, Well Known Titles

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- ION Television, ION Media Networks' (AMEX:ION) flagship TV network reaching over 90 million homes, announced that average weekend viewership is showing substantial increases with the debut of content from RHI Entertainment, the global leader in the production and distribution of groundbreaking movies, miniseries and series for television. Since the start of RHI Movie Weekend, which began the weekend of June 29th, Saturday night household impressions have experienced a 55 percent increase over season-to-date figures.

ION Television's consecutive Saturday night showings of the newly digitally re-mastered, Emmy award winning miniseries Lonesome Dove, which stars Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones, Danny Glover, Diane Lane, Ricky Schroder, Chris Cooper, and Anjelica Huston, is the highest rated television movie this season in its 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. time period. Other highlights for the Saturday night movies include:

Compared with season-to-date figures, Lonesome Dove's airings have increased delivery in women ages 25-54 by 34 percent.

Between the first and second early Saturday movie, the women 25-54 category increased 50 percent.

Overall, ION's Saturday 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. time period saw a 32 percent climb in household impressions versus season-to-date numbers.

Sunday movie specials also showed a dramatic increase of 54 percent amongst the women 25-54 year-old demographic. Additional results of interest are:

The Sunday, July 8th movie special, Journey to the Center of the Earth, a four-hour retelling of the classic Jules Verne tale, starring Treat Williams, reached 868,000 viewers and delivered 382,000 impressions in the adult 25-54 category.

Journey to the Center of the Earth further improved delivery in the 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. time period with an additional 57 percent in household impressions above the previous week.

Of the aforementioned week-to-week viewers, Sunday movies did notably well in the adult 35-64 demographic, nearly doubling their previous results.

"ION Television has seen significant increases in viewership since the introduction of RHI's content," said Brandon Burgess, CEO, ION Media Networks. "RHI programming makes for great TV viewing for the entire family, and we look forward to premiering the first new RHI original movie Killer Wave on ION Television in August."
