View Full Version : I'll be in the process of moving
Yooch 06-07-2007, 11:40 PM For the next several weeks, we will be in the process of moving, so I won't be consistently on SO during that time. We'll be disconnecting the computer at some point, packing, cleaning the place and so forth. We should be essentially moved in by the end of June. As soon as I can get up and running I'll be back on, early July or sooner if possible. I love SO and all the friends I've made here.
I apologize in advance for any SO birthdays I will miss, and as for those I promised to pray for, I will not forget. I may be able to logon for the next few days, but not be able to post. In the meantime, you guys take care. I can't wait to get settled and back posting on SO. I've been on SO for 14 months and it's great. I feel very much at home.
Your friend,
Gene (Yooch)

Awwwww Gene, how sweet of you to think of us while you are busy trying to move. I will certainly keep you in my thoughts and hope all goes well. I will certainly miss you and glad to know you feel at home here. I will keep your family in my nightly prayers and I hope to see you real soon here on S.O. You have indeed made a friend with me and your posts and thoughts have certainly added some zest to this place. I can't wait til you come back!!!!!
Your friend Irene!:D  GGTDM!!!!!!!!!;)
Number 9 Dream 06-07-2007, 11:56 PM I hope your move goes smoothly, Gene! We'll all be thinking of you! :bighug:
Janice 06-08-2007, 12:20 AM Ahhh moving, one of life's necessary evils. Moving every single thing you own is just exhausting. Once it's done, it's a beautiful thing. I hope all goes well with your move Gene. We'll miss you. You're a neat guy to have around.
Sharop 06-09-2007, 07:30 PM Hope the move goes smoothly, Gene! :) You're a great person to have around.
Yooch 08-03-2007, 01:00 PM Well, I'm finally moved in!!! It was a tough, long, tiring process--but I made it. It took longer still to find the right ISP for my area, but I was hooked up to the internet yesterday, Aug. 2nd.
I mainly wanted to thank all of you on this thread for your kind words and encouragement. It meant, and means, a great deal to me. I've wondered how all of you have been, and it's good to be back. I've missed all of you!
:bighug:

Yooch 08-03-2007, 02:05 PM BTW, I'm still in California, on the coast, just one hour closer to my S.O. Los Angeles compadres!
Janice 08-03-2007, 02:16 PM I'm glad you're all settled Gene. I've been thinking of you lately. Now, since you've just gone through the nightmare of moving, you can start your back-to-school preparations.

Yooch 08-03-2007, 02:46 PM Thank you, Janice,
I've kept you all in my thoughts as well. Thank you for your very thoughtful welcome back greeting. You are so kind. :)
Actually, going back to school will be a 'breather' and positively anticipated--almost ironically a sort of mini-vacation compared with this move, which was horrendous but in retrospect worth it. I like where I'm living now better, and the change of scenery is good. I'll have to commute further to work, but I think that will work out too.
I hope all's been good with you. Again, it's GREAT to be back!
Gene

Yooch 08-03-2007, 08:57 PM Hey, guys. I can't say it enough. I am deeply appreciative of your warm welcome back and sincere kind words. One of my major motivations (or, goals) for getting the moving accomplished was the reward that I'd be able to get posting again on S.O. It was one of the things that kept me going, sort of a 'light at the end of the tunnel thing'. I hope everything's been good for all of you. Any big controversies on Politics board lately? Sure been a political roller coaster on the national scene this summer so far! Hasn't it?
Important thing is that hopefully all of you are doing well, and again, I did miss everyone, and very glad to be back. Thanks
Gene (aka. GGTDM :) )
Mr. Television 08-03-2007, 09:28 PM Hey welcome back Gene. We all missed you.
Brian Damage 08-03-2007, 09:32 PM Welcome Back!!!
Yooch 08-04-2007, 01:22 AM Thank you, guys. I missed you too. Good to be back on SO! :)
Thanks for your kind welcome.
Mr. Cranky 08-05-2007, 12:32 PM Welcome back Gene. Great to have you back. Nice to hear your move went well. I don't envy you there, but it's done and all good now. When does school resume? I imagine teachers have their hands full weeks beforehand with meetings and the like.
Yooch 08-06-2007, 12:35 AM Hey, thanks, Mr. C Yeah, I'm glad it's done (the move, that is! :) ) Teachers in my district have to report back on Thursday, August 16th. Pep talk from the Superintendent, meetings, yada yada for a few days. The first day for our kids is Tuesday the 21st of Aug. We get most of Monday to set up our classrooms and so forth. I kind of look forward to it every year, but it's funny, many of us--I don't anymore--have trouble sleeping the night before; it might be nerves or anticipation. I knew one teacher, a friend of mine who is now retired and who was my son's first grade teacher. She used to get sick the night before every first day of school, like nausea. She was one of the best teachers in the district, too. But once school started, she was fine.
Mr. C, again, great to hear from you. Let me know how things are going with you. Thank you for your welcome back post!
Gene
