This lady started late in her career and she WORKED HARD!!! Very impressive work. I knew she was old when I first seen her on I Love Lucy, but never knew that she was 78! I feel sorry that she never married and lived alone.

She didn't have any relatives? How sad. :(

I know, that's sad. I'm glad she had a nice long career for herself. I wonder what she was doing before movies. Theater I guess. I see she was in an earlier episode of I Love Lucy, as another character.

Hmm...I didn't know her full name on the show was "Mrs. Matilda Trumbull." Did they ever mention her first name in any episode?

One time that I know of is in "Never Do Business With Friends." Her nephew Joe is the repairman for the washing machine and he calls her Aunt Matilda.

Yes, in the episode where Lucy thinks she and Ricky are not lawfully married. She and Ricky go to where they originally said their vows and the preacher was also the town sheriff, he also owned the motel and the gas station. Ms. Patterson played his wife. She was the town mayor.
