View Full Version : Do you have your clocks in your house set up on a certain time?
Ireneparalegal 06-06-2007, 07:10 PM I have most of my clocks in the house set at FIVE MINUTES AHEAD than the actual time. I do this so my family will hurry up if and when they need to. I also have my car stereo set five minutes ahead. People will think we are running behind until I tell them the clock is ahead. It keeps us on our toes.
I have the bathroom clock set ten minutes ahead. The reason being is that the clock is set just like my son's school clock. I noticed that on the second day of school, we seemed to be getting there right before the door was shut. This is pre-k and if you (your child) is late for school, they charge $1 per every minute your child is late. They consider it being late starting at 12:05 p.m. so, I have to make sure we are there on time.
neon000 06-06-2007, 07:25 PM I set mine by the time on CNN.
Already Gone 06-06-2007, 08:01 PM I have my alarm clock and all the other clocks set to regular time and the clock on my car is set to the one at work, same goes for my watch.
When I get my travel alarm clock from Amazon, i'll probably set that one
five minutes ahead. It will be one I use when the power goes out.

freshprinceofLA 06-06-2007, 10:08 PM The alarm clock in my room is set to the time on the tvguide channel but the rest of our clocks is pretty much set to 3-5 mins ahead with the exception of my clocks.
Mikado 06-18-2007, 06:16 PM yeah Irene,,,the correct time ;)
Lex Luthor 06-18-2007, 07:06 PM I used to set my bedroom alarm clock 10-15 mins ahead so I would get up earlier. However I found that I would just be half asleep trying to figure how far ahead I had set the clock and then hit snooze again.
I keep everything on the current time now.
Ireneparalegal 06-18-2007, 07:55 PM yeah Irene,,,the correct time ;)

dandelion wine 06-18-2007, 09:17 PM All of mine are set to the correct time, except the one in my bedroom with the alarm, which is 10 - 15 minutes ahead. :)
Kay Scarpetta 06-18-2007, 09:25 PM Every clock in the house is set by the time on my cell phone, except the computer time. That's 10 minutes ahead because I could stay online all day...
Corolla 06-18-2007, 09:53 PM Every clock in my house is set by the time automatically set on the phone by the phone company.
dawsongirl 06-18-2007, 09:55 PM The actual time. Though if you go room to room, you'd see any leeway of 1-3 minutes. I have 8:56, 8:55, and 8:54 in this room alone.
If I set my clocks ahead, I'd be too confused.
I Love John Ritter 06-19-2007, 02:04 AM I'm surprised to hear that so many people set their clocks ahead. I never had that idea and I never really heard of anyone doing that before. It's a good idea.
