HELLO MAMA'S FAMILY FANS,

A recent chat with TVSHOWSONDVD.COM and Warner Brothers have showed that Mama's Family may be released on DVD if the fans of Mama's Family feel the syndicated edited cuts are good enough for fans. They do not own the rights to the unedited original cuts and they are only allowed to supply the edited cuts. Warner Brothers will not release another set unless fans are willing to buy their version. We need you to sign our official petition at www.televisionhits.com/mamasfamily/ in our message board.

TVSHOWSONDVD.COM'S Gord Lacey has agreed to help us with the petition and contact Warner Brothers about our petition (Making it OFFICIAL for WARNER TO SEE)!!!!! We would all appreciate you to go over to our site or message board directly and please sign the petition to get Mama's Family Season 2 and subsequent seasons released on DVD, please help make this official petition a success. The ball is in our court, let's not screw this one up.

goto the official petition on The Mama's Family Site Message Board at

http://mamasfamilysite.proboards15.com

The Mama's Family Site will be updated this Thursday with news and information about this campaign to regular visitors at the site, please help spread the word any way you can. The same day we will be contacting Gord Lacey at TVSHOWSONDVD.COM to tell warner about our petition, so sign real early please all!!!!!!!!!!

No one has ever mentioned who owns the uncut versions, and why they cannot release them.

I definetely signed it; I cant wait to get the episodes where Mama is the mayor of Raytown. Those were classic. While its a screwed up deal as the owner alleges that contractual restrictions from releasing it (I personally think money was the key factor); keep in mind the reminder of the seasons were first run syndicated episodes so they will be naturally shorter than network television to allow for more commercials. So, the deal is really not the bad, lets sign this thing folks.

I definitely signed it! When will we have any indication that this will do the job? (Don't get me wrong, I'm being optimistic!! :))

Not necessarily. There's no date yet on the page, and just because there's a page for it on Amazon doesn't really mean it's coming. There's a page like that for The Mary Tyler Moore Show Season 5 DVD, and there hasn't been any release dates for that in a few years. But, it could be a good sign too, because it could mean that they're interested in releasing Season 2. I hope it's released sometime. :) But I hope they do uncut episodes this time.

I was going to say that, but you beat me to it. Yes, exactly. I'm not going to get my hopes up until TSOD makes a formal announcement.

I wish they would stop the shennigans and think more about the fans. We will definitely purchase Mama's Family, in fact since it has been a span of years....all six seasons should be released as a Complete Series.

thanx for posting the link...it's nice to know why they used the syndicated versions. (better than that tired excuse of using the "better prints.")

So if Joe Hamilton productions own the originals....why don't they release them? It would definately make him more money than just sitting on them.

again, thanks for the info!

sitcoms online says "We should also say that another TV series release... something that we can't disclose just yet... is coming very soon (as in the next week or so) from Warner Archive, and we know that fans of this series will be pleased to see it continue on DVD (it has already been started). Stay tuned, we'll have more when we are able to say more!"....maybe "Mama's Family"?? Cross ya fingers...

Unfortunately the series they were speaking of was Eight is Enough, not Mama.
