For the last few weekends I have been converting to DVD my 40 one hour versions of the original Sonny & Cher Show from TV Lands' first year.....the channel was so cool when it first signed on....they had no commercials but in the commercial area they showed old retro commercials.....Sonny & Cher was shown completely uncut...I even discovered by going thru the 40 episodes I recorded that a few episodes are cut on the official respond two dvd set due to music clearance issues as usual. It has been fun reliving those shows and memories since I'm old enough to remember watching the show when it first aired! The Sonny & Cher show was one of the best variety shows of the golden era of the 1970's!

God, Sonny & Cher was thee variety show to watch. I loved it. I am glad you had that chance to record the show.

I loved when TVland showed those retro commercials. Those are classics. It brought back memories.

Tvland really needs to listen to their viewers and get rid of that Friday night movie crap. I want the old Tvland. :mad:

I loved the Sonny & Cher Show, and of course my parents hated it. Its pretty cool that you've got all those shows and are able to put them on DVD.

I again was watching some original uncut sonny and cher shows recently when they briefly ran during TV Lands first year...then TV Land had no real commercials....and it really made me realize that TV land just keeps going down hill faster than when Sonny hit that tree.....bad joke.....because I love Sonny and Cher and am very sad he died that way.....but anyway...TV land seems now only to run movies...why not just start another network called MovieLand.....Viacom owned channels MTV, VH1, TV Land always seem to lose their original formats and purposes...such a shame.....
