LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Paris Hilton spent her final hours of freedom in familiar territory on Sunday, front and center at a celebrity event near Hollywood -- as people cheered her upcoming incarceration.
The socialite, who is due to report to a Los Angeles jail by Tuesday to serve 23 days for driving-related probation violation, was on hand at the MTV Movie Awards, smiling stoically in the face of jokes at her expense.
The ceremony's host, Sarah Silverman, drew loud cheers just by mentioning her upcoming date with the law.
The raunchy comedian joked that the bars of Hilton's cell would be painted like penises to make her feel more comfortable, but noted: "I just worry that she's going to break her teeth on those things."
Silverman also saved some barbs for another troubled party girl, describing Lindsay Lohan as "a rude little pig." The actress recently returned to rehab after crashing her car in Beverly Hills. Lohan was scheduled to be a presenter at the awards show, but did not make it.
I only have one thing to say - GOOD!!

KJH278 06-05-2007, 12:16 AM Paris Hilton>>>>>>>>>>> sarah silverman
ABlairican Pie 06-05-2007, 12:29 AM I say it's about time. These tabloid tarts have been acting like they can get away with everything, the laws of gravity don't even apply to them. Maybe they need a new show: The Simple Life 2: Life Behind Lockdown!!!
Jonathan 06-05-2007, 01:05 AM Nancy Grace is profiling her first day in jail. They have exclusive clips of her arrival to the jail. Kathy Hilton sobbing, her sister looking somber, and then Paris jumps out of the SUV and is escorted in.
 Nancy just pointed out something. She's in her Escalade, tinted windows and all, but all of the windows are rolled down. Nancy suspects it's for the papparazi to get photos. I'm hearing that she checked in up in the wee morning hours.
The videos can be found over @ TMZ.com (http://www.tmz.com). They're worth a quick check.
Apparently, Nicole Richie is already planning a visit to see her in jail. I'm sure Britney Spears will drop by too, since she, Hilton, and Lohan gathered up for that night of partying.
Jrnygrl 06-05-2007, 01:12 AM Paris is not in general population, which means that she is being what she always has been sheltered from anything that can hurt her. So what is the use of her going to jail when she is separated from what real jail is like? What lesson does she learn, nothing.

True, but she will be cut off from her own little world that adores her; her friends and hangers on who think she can do no wrong. She wil have to sit in her cell without her blackberry to text her BFFs, without her pretty clothes and all the amenities that have made her the spoiled little rich girl that she is.
In the real world a little pennance might make a person change thier ways...
But this is Paris we're talking about.
Will she learn anything from this? Probably not. I'm sure her people are in talks right now to have her "release from prison" party at some vegas hotspot and the sponsors will be lining up to pay her.
But I am glad that Sarah Silverman got her digs in. Love her or hate her Sarah will say what she wants. Paris was stupid for showing up to an event with someone like Sarah Silverman hosting. Paris must know that there are a lot of pundits and comics who make a living out of dissing her, but she was naive in thinking that she would be able to sit through this particular show without being roasted.
Lindsay Lohan probably did the smartest this she's done in a while: she didn't go the show.
;)
catlover79 06-05-2007, 07:19 AM I love all the attention that her going to the prison has gotten...for pete's sake, she's not Nelson Mandela or Marcus Garvey!! Her mother may think that, but not me. ;)
Hollow 06-05-2007, 08:07 AM lol....sarah's great.
TripperFan 06-05-2007, 10:08 AM lol....sarah's great.
For sure - she rocked! Said what we'd ALL love to say with Paris in attendance!!
What really killed me was Paris on the red carpet saying she hoped that she set an "example for other young people". WTF???
What example? Of some oogly twit (and she IS oogly - look at that weird nose and her mugshot when the lighting isn't just perfect or her face angle isn't just so) who thinks she's above the law, who thinks that a good and expensive team of lawyers could get her off. And then when that failed, get your friends to start a petition for you and when that fails, then try to suck it up and you still get half the original jail term?
Yeah, that's a real good example there Paris.
How 'bout next time setting the example of NOT getting behind the wheel when you're drinking and NOT driving under suspension with your headlights off. That might be the better example idiot.

I'm not thrill with Sarah either. Saw her special on one of the cable channels and who did she make fun of Martin Luther King. Sarah Silverman could begin to understand what a man like Dr. King did.

It's comedy. It's not supposed to be taken seriously.

exactly. people who get offended at stuff like that annoy me. lighten up...

Umm, not trying to start any argument, and I think I have the best sense of humor and I can accept the fact that Sarah is supposed to be highly intelligent, but where do you draw the line? I suppose you think what Michael Richards did was okay too?
I guess this is why I am not popular on this site. IMO what Sarah said was not acceptable.
EmoJoe 06-07-2007, 02:48 PM what did she say about him, anyway?
Jrnygrl 06-07-2007, 10:04 PM what did she say about him, anyway?
She said something about big deal about MLK having a dream, she has f'ing dreams....and she went on about who cares about MLK's dreams. Well without this man dreaming I would still be a second class citizen, and in some places I am, but MLK made it possible for a lot of people to have it a little bit better.

I agree with you on this one then. I haven't heard it first hand, but I did hear it with Paris and found it funny. Difference is that she's also still alive to defend herself. MLK is different and really is a martyr to a lot of people. And if not that, then certainly making a joke about his "dream" directly does kinda suck.
I squirmed even myself at some of the stuff thrown at Paris, but it was like how you squirmed with some of the stuff in the Borat movie. I just feel this skank brings so much of it on herself. If you're gonna put yourself "out there" as much as she does, then she has to take the good with the bad.
