I was just watching VH1 when they aired a commercial of a new reality show with Scott Baio. It's titled "Scott Baio Is 45...And Single" and it will air on July 15. Does anybody have any more info on this??

No longer. Baio will be the latest star to bare his celebrity soul on VH1's "Scott Baio Is 45 ... and Single "next month.

"I didn't want to do a reality show. The concepts were always meaningless, and the people seemed pathetic," Baio says. "Maybe I'm a little pathetic. But this isn't Scott Baio getting a colonoscopy. It's about a guy trying to get his life together, trying to figure out why he's never been married and what his problem is."

Baio's series -- part "Broken Flowers" part "High Fidelity" -- is a raw look at the back story of one of Hollywood's most prolific serial daters. A therapist and past lovers ranging from former "Playboy" playmates to actresses Erin Moran and Nicole Eggert also star in Baio's made-for-TV journey of self-discovery.

Scott Baio was like the Italian Michael Jackson of his days, without the molestion charges and plastic surgery. He is a confirmed lady's man and abducted in the hall of fame, but he had it all. A role to play as Maverick probably would have took Scott into a whole new level, but he declined and stayed with CIC. But back in the 80s, he was like on the same universal level as a major 80s teen idol, having two albums from 1982 and 1983. He kind of threw it all away suddenly.........It was always surprising as to how big Baio was in the 70s and 80s. He was everywhere.........every role in played and they still remember him as Chachi Arcola. I know he hates that, but that is what every remembers him from. It is like MJ's robot and moonwalk, just like Baio's "Wa Wa Wah" and typical Brooklyn accent.

In my opinion, he couldn't even sing! :eek: How did those two albums chart?

Surprisingly, it's the same pose as MJ's Thriller. :lol: There was this old man during that signing in his new reality series that said "Rock N' Roll" that had his self-titled album & The Boys Are Out Tonight....LOL I almost died laughing.......an old man having his first two albums. Erin couldn't keep a straight face at the Happy Days signing, though.:lol: I expected Erin to say, "It's a huge hit between the ages of 70-95."

There was this old man during that signing in his new reality series that said "Rock N' Roll" that had his self-titled album & The Boys Are Out Tonight....LOL I almost died laughing.......an old man having his first two albums. I was at a DD signing with the original lineup back in 2004 and there was this only one old red headed woman singing "Hungry Like The Wolf". All the rest of the fans were around 30s or so...you know, those born in the 70s, but there was that only old woman not far from me.

That doesn't surprise me. A lot of times the music that teen idols perform is forced on them by the record companies, wanting to make a quick cash-in with soppy ballads and lightweight pop.

David Cassidy from The Partridge Family was into Zeppelin and Hendrix, yet had to smile and bob and sing "I Think I Love You" on TV and in concert.

There's a side to celebrities that we don't know and couldn't know...unless we hung out with them.

From what I've read, I think David wasn't all that crazy about performing teenybop songs. He had to do what he had to do, but I think he had higher ambitions.

I believe he's come to terms with the past, knowing that he can still make money peforming the old songs. But the Keith Partridge sound and image haunted him for many years.

Wow...that's very sad. I always thought that David was a bit of a hard rocker, even during the teenybopper years. Though he did create one of the best 70s albums ever, Rock Me!

You know, I sort of missed the late70s-early 1984 Baio haircuts he had, though....I kind of had one like that, though, in 1991. People thought I was Italian. He hacked it during the pilot of CIC, though, when he had the boyish cut, which is similar to my kindergarten haircut. True story...
