Wow, this is early.

I am tired. I had many errands to run today. I just feel blah right now. I am trying to get my energy so I can do some things around the house right now.

I really need a pick me up.

Drinking's been history for me for years now, but I loved the frozen drinks, strawberry daiquris, margaritas...makes me want one now. The bottled wine coolers are refreshing too. :happyface

Oh man, we have a small store across the street, if I had the energy I'd go buy some wine coolers right now! My daughter is home, but she is only 18, too young to purchase liquor! DAMNIT!

I love me margaritas on the rocks. YUMMY!

Awwww sweetie. I am sorry that happened. Some girls can be real wicked when it comes to guys. Like Brian said, I too have been in that situation and it sucks big time. All I can say is that if he is flirting with more than one girl, sounds like a guy who doesn't deserve all this attention. He must know that all these females like him and he is playing with that.

Good morning, all! It's 8:24 a.m., and it's Saturday morning.

I am going to be doing some grocery shopping this morning. I will also be doing a favor by driving a co-worker friend's teenage daughter to her basketball game. My friend is working this morning and will be unavailable to take her to the game. Shortly after, I will be working for five hours this evening. Then, I am attending a friend's surprise 60th birthday party for her dad tonight.

Hey. It's me, TJL.

The weekend started off pretty well for me last night. I went to a movie yesterday afternoon with a friend of mine. Unfortunatly, the movie was "Daywatch," a Russian action/horror film that truly sucked wind. I really had no desire to go, but my friend is a big fan of both of the two films of this series (why I don't friggin know) and she insisted i see it.

Anyhoo, I wound up at the Gaf where I watched the Yanks win (finally) and hung out with my friends. I don't have much else planned today, It's a bit hot and I'd rather stay indoors.

I'll take a frozen margarita if anyone is making them. No salt please.

As for the rest of the weekend. Just relaxing and staying cool. I wish the pool was ready for swimming. I'd be in there all weekend.

Hi all...I had to ebruptly get off the computer last night. I sure was enjoying that Saturday Night Fever thread. John Travolta really had my attention, so much so, that my five year old son stuck a brownie in the microwave and God knows why he did. Next thing I know, he comes to the living room and before he can tell me anything I see billows of white smoke coming out of the kitchen. I gasped and ran over there screaming for my daughter to come to the kitchen. I couldn't see in there!!!! I turned off the microwave fast and started gasping for air. We immediately opened all the windows and doors and ran outside to breathe!!! I forgot abt the poor dog. I ran inside and grabbed him and took him outside. My son was complaining that his eyes were hurting. I told him that his butt was going to be hurting more than his eyes!!!!!!!! I calmed down and told him he is never to touch the microwave again. He told me he pressed 25 seconds on the microwave. Too much time for a small piece of brownie. When I opened the door to the microwave, I seen this tiny, black piece of what looked like a charcoal. It was making noise like it was still cooking!

MY PROBLEM NOW IS MY WHOLE HOUSE SMELLS BURNT!!!!! I woke up with a headache. My boyfriend came home from work at midnight and asked what happened. We had the windows opened all night but the smell remains.

ANY IDEAS ANYONE????????? Will it just take time to go away?

My weekend is going okay so far. It is really much too hot out right now to go out and do anything. I decided to stay in and watch a movie. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a really, really bad movie. It was the 1980 Al Pacino movie called Cruising. Pacino is my favorite actor and I've seen most of his films countless times. I've never seen this one before though. It turned out to be a huge disappointment, however. It was such a disturbing and unpleasent movie.

We lost our electricity at some point early in the morning. It was out for a few hours. This was the first time we have lost electricity in eight years. Since we lost power, we had to go around this morning and reset all the clocks. Which was no small task considering all the clocks that we had to reset-four VCR's, the oven, the microwave, radio alarmclocks...

OMG Irene, that's awful! You poor baby. I'd try a high-quality air freshener such as Neutra-Air, and spray Fabreeze over anything cloth. Polish the wood.

Years ago, my husband was messing with the fireplace, and all the soot came raining down and covered two rooms. I had to replace the sofas and the drapes. It was on the walls, everywhere. It was exactly like fire damage. Of course, our insurance didn't cover it because my knucklehead husband was at fault. :smash:

Thanks for your kind words, everyone. I'm hoping this will pass over. I'm sure it will, but right now it's just painful to deal with (especially on top of everything else in my life).

Tara, I'm sorry you're going through this too! It's an awful feeling :( It makes me feel like I'm not good enough, not pretty enough. Then I look at this other girl and I wonder what's so special about her? She's a bit of a ditz, in my opinion. Nice girl, but nothing going on upstairs. That's what gets to me--the kind of guy I'm crushing on is sort of a smart, sarcastic, and quirky type....I thought he wouldn't go for the airheaded type :(

The thing that REALLY bugs me is that this girl already has a boyfriend (a really sweet guy too...he's actually going to be acting in an HBO show with Al Pacino very soon...he's really funny! His name is Frank...watch out for him!), and she crushes on so many random guys from work. Just wish she'd back off of mine

Janice, last night I was spraying Febreeze like crazy. I did buy some Neutra-Air today and that orange spray that is supposed to kill all odors. It has subsided some, but not a lot. I did polish all the furniture, used Mr. Clean all over the kitchen and lit all kinds of candles. My daughter even burned incense. I sprayed the drapes with Febreeze too. Still, we walk in the house and it still smells. Not as much as last night, but it is still nauseating. What I think makes it worse is that my kids have used the microwave a few times today and you can really smell the burn. I checked online and it says that the smell may be in the microwave for days. I am going to try and avoid using it.

Lou did what?????? OMG   That is awful!!!! I can imagine what your face looked like... I guess I should be thanking my lucky stars that it wasn't worse. I don't know what I would do if I had to deal with buying new furniture and drapes! :faint:

I just returned from my friend's dad's surprise 60th birthday party! It was really small with all family except me. It was nice. We all hung out, talked, and even sung to "old school" early 90s music! It was so much fun! :D

Your best friend would not happen to be named Jo would she? ;)

No but she does kind of act like Jo, she tries to be all tough and isn't real girly

I heard that if you take a pair of stockings and fill it with baking soda and put it where the smell is coming from the smell will go away. My friend tried that once when she moved into her new place it had a smokey smell from the last person that lived there and it helped get rid of it

My friend Ivy invited me to her husband's softball tournament games today. I am going to get ready and then meet up with her to watch them play.

After that, I just plan on staying home and resting. I am totally exhausted.

It sounds like I am going to have to do something like that. The smell is emitting real bad from the microwave ducts. I figure I will buy some baking soda boxes and place it near the ducts and maybe put a box inside the microwave while we aren't using it, maybe it can absorb the horrible burnt smell. I had to use the microwave this morning and the stench that emits from there is awful. You think something that has been burnt wouldn't smell horrible, but after three days, it is. YUCK!!!!!!

Thanx for the advice. Since the rest of the house is pretty much back to normal, I think I will try that baking soda advice. My boyfriend said if after a week that smell remains we will have to buy another micro.

I think this is the biggest Weekend Chat thread ever.

Not much going on this front - my dad got a Nintendo Wii a while ago and I've been glued to the damn thing whenever I have the chance. Hehe.

I have an inner conch piercing (http://tattoo.about.com/library/graphics/innerconch.jpg) (not my ear, BTW) and yesterday I went to get some new jewelry for it... I was wearing the same type of ring as seen in that picture, and it was giving me issues when I slept with it in at night. So now I have a small barbell in there and I think it's funny, because it almost looks like I have a big shiny zit in my ear.

Finally things have cooled off a bit here in the City. It's been raining on and off for a few hours, and more is on the way from what I have heard.

Tonight, I'm going to the Gaf for an impromptu graduation party for a friend who just earned another degree. It should be a nice turnout.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the Yankees tonight. After yeaterday's disasterous game, I think they need all the luck they can.

You girls crack me up.

At least you didn't have the problem I had a month ago. I was prescribed Seasonal to help with my monthly cycle. Well, it is supposed to give you periods 4 times a year. Whoo hoo...sounded great to me. However, the pills did something worse for me...I had a period for 21 straight days!!!!!!!!!!      My doctor had to prescribe me medication to make the bleeding stop! I was so tired, cranky, I was in pain, bloated, cramping non-stop. My poor guy and kids. Never again!

I'm sorry it wasn't meant to be...I assume this is the guy you mentioned to me in an earlier post in this thread? Bah, I hate men! I hope you find your prince soon, my dear :)

Irene, a period for 21 days?! :faints: That sounds terrible!

Glad you had a good time last night, Janice :) I'm kinda in the mood to go out to dinner with some friends, have a few laughs. I guess tomorrow will be a good day to go :D

Anyway, I suppose my weekend got better. I went to the Brookhaven Fair last night with a few good friends...went on the Ferris Wheel and the bumper cars. Pretty good time all around :)

Hehe, thanks :)

Surprisingly, it didn't hurt that much. I have a rather high pain tolerance... The day before I got it done (in January), I was talking to my guy friend online. He has done a lot of painful stuff, things that make me wince thinking about it (he almost lost his right hand in a freak accident and he was conscious when blood was spurting from his severed hand/wrist. OUCH. Luckily, it's fine and his hand regained full functionality.). When I told him I was going to get my inner conch pierced, HE winced and said, "that's a really painful piercing to get." Never mind that he's had an assload of piercings, including one of which I'm embarrassed to name here (I can't believe he got THAT pierced, for chrissakes!)

I can see how it would be painful, being it goes through stiff cartilage and all that. But I hardly winced when that happened.

I have an industrial piercing in the other ear:

And getting THAT done was way more painful. Never mind that I already had an existing piercing there that I had to retire so that the barbell could occupy that hole. Damn, it was a major bitch. But I love my piercings. :loveya:

Oh man, my youngest daughter has wanted all kinds of piercings since I don't know when. I told her when she turned 18 she can pierce, tattoo, do whatever she wanted as far as that was concerned. But I also told her that she had to think abt the future as far as clothing she would wear and what would show, her employers, etc.

She has her lip pierced and her brow. She also has gauges in her ear lobes. However, I told her I didn't want to see those big gauges that a lot of people have. They eventually tear your lobes and they just don't look nice. She has to wear a clear piercings at work. Her boss told her she couldn't be seen with a piercing, so it was either a clear one or nothing at all.

She also has to wear long sleeves because of a tattoo she has on her arm. Her employer won't let her wear short sleeves. She got that shortly after her dad died. It is a memorial to him. She has so far hidden it from my sister who would blow a gasket if she ever sees that tattoo. My sister had a cow after seeing mine.

Senior Ball was yesterdayyy. It was so much more fun than I expected because Junior Prom was lame. But this time it was awesome. One good thing out of a generally crappy year. After that we hung out and we didn't drink because we're good and drinking is stupid and it was still way fun. And i slept till 2:30 today. :)

Hehe, thanks. :) I plan on getting more piercings in my ears... It's hella fun to do. Something I've wanted to do ever since I was a little kid (I got my first piercing ~15 years ago). I don't want piercings anywhere on me, so my ears it is.

I've been thinking of gauging my earlobes too, but I've been putting it off for the reasons you stated... They just wouldn't look very attractive. Besides, the holes in my piercings stretch by themselves anyway. I found out I could get bigger jewelry. That was kinda weird, but what the heck.

You've seen the picture of the tattoo that I have... I thought really carefully about the location before I got it done. I can wear shirts with really short sleeves, and you still wouldn't see my tattoo because it's so high up on my arm.

...That's kind of scary when you look at me. I'm probably one of the most pierced people on this board.
