Some season 3 episodes start with the beginning credits, others have a scene before the credits roll. They should have made a decision and make all the episodes the same, one way or the other.

Messed up??? Isn't that how the episodes were shown? I can recall some episodes starting with a scene and then it went to the theme music with the credits rolling and vice versa.

Yes that's how those episodes were made, and they messed up. They should have made them all the same way instead of some one way and the rest another. It's annoying watching the season 3 episodes and some start off with a scene and others start with the titles.

Ok, but when the series was shown on television, that is how they did it. ROSEANNE did that also. They sometimes started the show with the credits and other times they had an opening scene. It happens a lot. It is not an error.

That's correct, I don't like that. I like things to be consistent. Perhaps "messed up" might not be the best choice of words, but I think you understand my point.

Oh, ok. Gotcha now. I wasn't really sure, which is why I was trying to be very clear in my posts. I do understand and see your point. :wave:

Some months ago I remember there was a thread that compared the airdate schedule and production schedule for season 3. I'm going on memory here--because I can't face trying to find it in the thousands of millions of threads----but I think when they were arranged by production order, all the epsidoes with "teasers" before the opening credits sort of lined up together near the end so that it looked much more like a permanent change that was made at a certain point, rather than back-and-forth-and-back-and-forth.

As I said, I'm going totally on memory---so GF and others, please jump in and correct me if I've got it wrong. :)

In Season 3, some episodes did start off with a teaser before the opening credits/theme & some just began with the opening credits/theme. However, Warner Home Video has made some mistakes on the Season 3 DVD set with a few of these episodes. One example is the Ginger's Double Episode: "All About Eva"
This episode is suppose to begin with the teaser where Eva arrives on the island & looks around, walks into the jungle & then Gilligan & Ginger come out & discover the boat. Then the credits/theme are suppose to roll. Instead, Warner put the credits/theme first & then the opening teaser. The opening teaser even has the Gilligan's Island logo to let the viewers know what they are watching.

Jack----when I read your reply, I watched the begining of "All About Eva" and, at first, I thought you were right about the DVD messing up the episode. However, when I checked out other eps that had teasers they all followed the exact same pattern: 1) a teaser with no credits except the title, 2) the theme song, 3) production credits over the opening of the following scene.

Here is what I think happened: "All About Eva" was supposed to have the usual teaser, but they had to give Tina Louise another credit for also doing the role of Eva. They wanted to do this over Eva's first close-up because it would be obvious to viewers that they were looking at Tina, but that would mean having a credit before the theme song and then other credits after----so they decided to just start with the theme song. The mistake they made was redundently leaving the title over what would have otherwise been the start of the teaser. Notice that the production credits start immediately after the "teaser title," showing that it was moved to after the theme song in pre-production.

On the season three DVD's, episodes 1 thru 10, 14, 15, 16, 28, 29 and 30 begin with the opening credits. Episodes 11, 12, 13, and 17 thru 27 have a teaser scene prior to the opening credits.

Also Gilligan Fans- Here is a list of season three episodes in production number order. This is really the proper order these episodes should be placed on the DVD's. If you want to watch the episodes in the correct order, this is how you need to view them.

So as you can see, the production order of the episodes is much different than the airdate order that's on the DVD's. Production order is really the proper way to do it. It's A Bird, It's A Plane was the last episode of the series. I hope this list will help clear up some of the confusion regarding season three.

They aired the Secret of Gilligan's Island really late then-lol

With the last scene of Gilligan holding up his "home sweet home" plaque, I always thought it would have made an apt last episode.
