This is the other Chase murder. Does anyone remember this case? David Chase was off to work with Matt Tobaloski or something very close to that, and Matt convinced him to cash a check that was an advance for a job they were going to do. David was reported missing, by his beautiful wife, and then later found floating in a river. The Matt guy was awfully suspicous (I think I spelled that wrong, forgive me) and kept changing his story. Anyways, a old guy claimed to have a vision and contacted his wife. Very interesting case indeed, to me open and closed but obviously not. Does anyone remember this one, and has there been any updates?
Thanks!

Well David's wife I think is still active in the area of adopting kids and stuff. I remember seeing a website she runs, I should track it down. As for Matt, the prime suspect, he was never charged. The cops wanted to charge him, as a matter of fact, the cops I believe did arrest him once and wanted him charged with 2nd degree murder and held on 200 thousand dollars bail but because the Jefferson County D.A's office wouldnt press charges Matt was released from custody. For whatever reason the DA wouldnt pursue this case, wouldnt touch it with a ten foot pole and I have never been quite able to figure that out.

Another maddening case! I was really hoping for an "UPDATE!" when this aired the other day.

Watched this one this morning while getting ready for work (I DVR all the morning shows-there is one on now).
I have no doubt in my mind that Matt Orahoske had something to do with his death. I believe there was a fight over the money after they had been drinking. Things got out of hand and David died. Instead of Matt calling the police/help he dumped the body in the river.
Though I thought it was strange in the segment about the timeline. Did they in fact shoot pool & drink. How long did they do that? Did they drink alot of beers?
They said in the segment that David didn't high a high alcohol content at the time of death but then again he was in the water for over 6 weeks before he body was found. And if the fight was bad why wasn't there evidence of it in the autopsy? Did the water destroy evidence?
Alot of unanswered questions in the case. And this man having this information from what he said was from David from beyond the grave.
Bizarre to say the least.

No updates that I know of, but the "friend" Matt seems totally guilty. Changing his story? Come on, man. What innocent friend would change his story from David jumping to falling? What innocent friend wouldn't call for help if his friend really fell into icy cold water?

I thought the friend's claims were bogus too. Orahavski (he's referred to as Pat Lubelski on some sites) was telling several versions about how David ended up in Bear Creek, yet he failed to go back to the bar they had supposedly just left and get help. One of his stories had David going into the water to swim or raft down the creek, it sounds like both men were seen leaving the bar past 8 pm, not a time when most people would start swimming or rafting. If the witness was correct, he might have returned to the bar, but failed to say anything about what happened.

If I remember this case correctly, David's pants had been tampered with, too. Like someone had cut them before he "fell" in the water. I think the theory was that the friend wanted the money, killed David, cut the cash from his pocket and threw him in the river.

I saw this case on social media yesterday. Someone took issue with a psychic bringing the alleged murderers name up in the case but if I recall isn't the alleged murderer in question the last one that was with David? It doesn't take a ghost or psychic to figure that one...
