View Full Version : Who remembers this commercial??
catlover79 05-31-2007, 12:17 AM Back in the early-mid 1990s I remember Jimmie Walker was saying "DYN-O-MITE!!" in some commercial. Then a guy who looks and sounds like Joe Pesci (don't know if it is actually him) says "You still got it!" Wasn't it a pizza ad? Does anyone remember this besides me??
Sammy Reed 05-31-2007, 04:54 PM That was a Little Caesar's commercial.
GeorgeWBushGOP 06-04-2007, 08:37 PM I seem to remember Walker selling electronics in a tv commercial during the Good Times run.
KurtfromPitts 06-07-2007, 02:10 PM I'm sure it was for Panasonic.

Yes, I think you're right. I've been checking YouTube to see if someone downloaded it but haven't found it. I'd love to see that commercial again.
Ireneparalegal 09-15-2007, 09:47 PM I remember that commercial, though I don't know what was being advertised. The commercial I want to see real bad featuring a Good Times actor, is the one where John Amos did a McDonald's commercial. He was singing and dancing.
The one I hate is when Esther Rolle did a psychic infomercial. For someone who was so adamant abt the black community being represented properly, she sure didn't mind taking hard earned money from gullible people.
ThomasE 09-15-2007, 10:12 PM I remember the John Amos commerical. I have that commercial with Jimmie Walker promoting that radio. That was aired during a 1975 episode of "Soul Train". Didn't Esther used to do "Accent" commercials? You know, that seasoning for foods? The psychic commercials should not have been. "the help line can lead you to a better life". I remember her saying that. LOL.
FactoryGirl 09-15-2007, 10:18 PM Oh crap, I remember when Ms. Rolle did those psychic commericals, wasn't that sometime in the '90's. My uncle burst out laughing like it was the funniest thing in the world. He couldn't seperate Esther Rolle from Flordia Evans.

  I found that John Amos commercial...Man, I remember when the employees used to dress that way and wear them corny hats:

ThomasE 09-15-2007, 11:12 PM Great! I will try and look at it.
ThomasE 09-15-2007, 11:16 PM I just watched it on youtube. One of the comments had me in stiches. Someone said:
"The black guy's intro is hillarious. He's way too happy with the mop LOL. No Mickey D's in 2007 is that clean, & all the workers are 40yrs younger LOL, well with the exception of the 109yr old lady that empty's the trash!!! "

ThomasE 09-15-2007, 11:32 PM That was hilarious.
FactoryGirl 09-15-2007, 11:43 PM That was hilarious.
That was wrong as hell but it was so damn funny!
ThomasE 09-15-2007, 11:45 PM I must concur. It has me still laughing.

I just showed it to my cousin and he is dying right now:lol: .
Those must have been the good old days when McDonald's was cheap, clean, and had better customer service.

Those certainly were the days. My gosh, customer service WAS OFF THE HOOK. Seeing the characters (employees in costume) like Grimace, the Hamburglar, etc. was the thing to look forward to. Those were the days my friend.
ThomasE 09-16-2007, 12:25 AM I am sure that things were better back then, but now it seems like we get microwave service with special guest star transfat. LOL.

Now I suddenly feel deprived of being born in 1981 because according to a lot of people including some of my family members, good customer service went down the drain in the late 1980's.
ThomasE 09-16-2007, 12:30 AM You know its true. All the negatives were hidden behind those smiling faces.

Funny that you should mention that. It seemed as though that the restaurants were built all over making things more accessible. It became more a quanitity issue right along with the service.

My uncle, whom for the last 15 years is a champion complainer, kept grumbling about how he can't get a decent burger anymore without the rude lazy 'ghetto' customer service, the 30 minute wait, and the idiot who always screws up and order with no apology.

Yeah, Thomas, I noticed the way we all posted at the same damn time! Funny!

Call me silly, but I noticed that too!
My uncle is forever getting into it with an fast food employee! If he says "No mayo, extra pickles" you better not screw that up.
He stood in line at a McDonald's a few years ago and he must have been standing there for a long time and he shouted "I thought this was FAST food." Let's just say I pretend that I didn't know him.
ThomasE 09-16-2007, 11:12 PM Ha Ha Ha!
FactoryGirl 09-17-2007, 12:18 AM Ha Ha Ha!
Him at a buffet is even worse, he will point out the smallest things. He demanded a clean plate as soon as he gets to the plate and he will stand there until they put out a fresh batch of chicken or something like that. Then heaven forbid if someone sneezed because he once told this lady that sneezed, "You better not put your nasty ass hands on the laddle."
If the ice cream machine isn't ALL THE WAY clean, like a little spill at the bottom, he would get someone to clean it up. I told him there are some things you need to let go.
