I'm not sure how widely played this lost loves segment was on Lifetime or even if it was played at all. It originally aired on 11/10/93 and it involves a German man named Christoph Bauer. When he was an adult his mother told him the man who had raised him wasn't really his birth father. She had had an affair with a man named Michael B. Saymore when they both worked at a hotel in Chicago. They never married and when Christoph's mother became pregnant, being in a foreign country and neither having good paying jobs, she decided to go back to Germany. Christoph is/was searching for his birth father. I saw on the episode guide where there was an update to his story on 10/6/94. Does anyone remember seeing it and if so what was the outcome? I am sending someone a copy who may possibly be Michael Saymore's relative and trying to find out more info to pass on to him. Thanks!

Are you sure about the date 10/6/94? No episode aired on that date according to the guide.

I'm almost positive I've seen that one on Lifetime within the last couple of years. I want to say that the segment ended with the update that the case had been solved, but it was one of those "we will bring you more information on a future broadcast" deals, and I don't recall ever seeing any updates beyond that.

It looks like the date you need is 4/6/94.
How strange the update didn't make it to Lifetime. Maybe it didn't pan out?

Thanks, I don't know where I got that other date from. That is strange as UM was religious about airing lost love updates. Thats why I'm curious as to what UM said about it. Hopefully someone out there will remember watching it.

There isn't anything about this on Newsbank either. It looks like you'll have to find someone who has that episode.

Saw this for the first time on Prime, and there is no update featured at the end of the segment.

I had a hazy memory of it from when it originally aired, but only after watching it on Prime. I was really hoping it'd have an update...I was kinda sad there wasn't one :(

I vaguely remember this. For some reason I am thinking the father was possibly Canadian. Maybe someone else can chime in that knows more?

Yes, he was Canadian, according to what he told the mother. Here is the UM wiki. http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Michael_Seymour
