LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Roger Lodge, best known for hosting the syndicated show "Blind Date," will take the reins of GSN's upcoming hidden-word game show "Camouflage."
The show, which is set to air weekdays at 7:30 p.m. starting July 2, is a mix of trivia and word puzzle.
Lodge will preside over puzzles composed of a series of seemingly random letters; however, hidden within each puzzle is the answer to a clue that has been given by Lodge. The contestants are given a preliminary hint, and game play begins, with the decoy letters dropping away one at a time until someone buzzes in with an answer. The sooner a puzzle is solved, the more points it is worth.
GSN has ordered 40 half-hour episodes of the show. Production begins Wednesday in Los Angeles.
"Camouflage" marks Lodge's first time hosting a series for GSN, but he has hosted game shows before, including a live stage version of "The Price Is Right" in Atlantic City, N.J., and Las Vegas as well as ESPN's "Trivial Pursuit." He also is a regular guest analyst on ESPN's "Jim Rome Is Burning."
Lodge hosted "Blind Date" during its seven years in production, through summer 2006; the show is still airing in repeats in national syndication.
