Hi guys! I need lots of prayers asap. I was washing my hair when my sister called and said my father was shot in the stomach. I don't know how he is yet, but she said they said he was talking. Please pray for him that he will be okay. Thank you.

Hi! Thanks for your prayers and concern. This is the first chance I've had to write.The doctor says my dad is doing okay, but the next 7-10 days are the most important ones. If he can make it without any complications or infections his chances for a full recovery will improve. They were able to rebuild his colon in surgery.

The good news is that my dad hasn't needed any blood transfusions and yesterday he started to breathe on his own. They're keeping him mildly sedated. He's able to talk to us, but he's really out of it because of the medication.

We spoke to a detective today and he said that the man who shot him is still in jail (without a bond) and that the prosecutor would be filing a case against him this week. The man confessed to the police. I don't know exactly what happened and my father isn't able to talk about it yet.

My dad came home today! He has to have home health for awhile, but he's doing super. He's able to eat and will be able to do everything normally once he is completely healed. The bullet moved and the doctor was able to remove it yesterday.

First of all only just read this thread so sorry to hear that father was shot,secondly glad to hear hes on the mend look after him!

That's wonderful news! I hope your Dad has a speedy recovery. Your entire family must be so relieved. :)

If your father lives, the shooter should get life with no parole and if he dies,
he should get the death penalty.

I highly doubt the shooter will get life w/out parole for attempted murder and/or assault and battery w/a dangerous weapon. Just doesn't work like that in the US.

Wow, glad to hear he's home and doing better. I was worried when you said the bullet went into the colon - that can be really messy and dangerous with the threat of infection.

Hope he has a full recovery and you find out why this idiot shot him.
