I've noticed that when a celebrity dies, Several threads are started especially if the person was known for more than one role. Charles Nelson Reilly is the latest example. I posted his obit first in game shows then it was posted in The Ghost and Mrs. Muir & also in chit chat. I think all 3 were appropriate but it seems like one forum for these would be better than several different ones. Just a thought & sorry if this idea has been mentioned before.:)

A board dedicated to celebrity deaths seems quite morbid and unnecessary.

It's no more morbid than posting an obit in another board and it wasn't intended to be that way. I'm sorry if you don't like the idea, I was just thinking that it would be better to have one forum than several threads spread out over the board. Of course TJ has final say on this and if he doesn't like the idea then that's ok by me.

I agree with Brad, it does seem a bit morbid. It seems like you (Zone Boy) are upset that other people besides you post death threads. I could be wrong, but it sure seems like that.

No not at all and if I gave you that impression, I apologize. I think I may have gotten upset over something a long time ago but I honestly can't recall what it was. As far as I'm concerned, obits are like any other news item. Nobody here (that I know of) has exclusive rights on starting threads including myself of course. I had a feeling that my idea would be met with criticism but that's cool also. Hell, You won't know if you don't ask.

Yea I don't think it's such a good idea either. Even if a board was made their would probably still be threads made about them on the individual sitcom boards.

Ok, Please accept my sincerest apologies for even mentioning it and you're right, That is most likely what would happen.

I agree. For example, I rarely look on the game show boards, so I may not have noticed Charles' death. But, if his death is posted on chit/chat, I will notice it.

Some celebs death thread may appear on more than one board section simply because the celeb may have appeared in movies, television, music, game shows, etc. Some of us know some celebs in one area of work, and others may know the same celeb in another area of work.

Which is why I suggested one board but from reading the replies, I realize now that it wasn't such a good idea. I should've thought about that in the first place but sometimes I don't think before I post.
