Normally, I would agree with you, but Steinbrenner says that Torre is safe and the GM Brian Cashman is ON THE HOOK. lol

I think he is safe for the rest of the season...unless there is a colossal collapse.

Well that's not what he said-lol Come on Brian you know what George meant, he damm sure didn't mean the rest of the reason. In sports u can go from sugar to sh*t in the blink of an eye-lol You are only as good as your LAST SHOW

Like I said, normally I would agree, but this George Steinbrenner is different from the one who fired a manager for sneezing the wrong way. He is waaaay different. If he didn't fire Joe after the single greatest collapse in baseball history, he probably won't do it now.

Cashman is definatly going to be the sacrificial lamb in this situation. Torre is probably safe because it's his last season anyway.

Torre should have resigned anyway, after all that sh*t he went through in the offseason last year not knowing if George was going to bring him back or not.

I just felt his resume too attractive to be putting up with Steinbreener' bullsh*T. What MLB won't hire Torre if he was available?-lol The man has proved that he can lead a team to a Title and I was surprised he came back

He lives in NY, he's older now, he doesn't want to have to move away at this stage.

My husband is a big fan of Joe Torre. I realize this piece of information doesn't further the discussion along. Just felt like posting that. :p

That's what my boss says to his staff-lol He lets us know we have met all our goals but don't relax because we can go from sugar to sh*t as if we stop performing. We are only as good as our last show-lol

Last October there were rumors of Joe Torre going to the Cincinnati Reds since his wife is from Cincinnati. The Reds certainly could use a shakeup!
