For me those shows were One Day at a Time and Alice. Watched over 50 eps of One Day at a Time but it never grabbed me and watch 2 seasons of Alice so far and still has yet to grab me

Same here. I really liked the movie, but couldn't get into the series as well as Happy Days (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=12) after Ron Howard left.

Well are you a female? That could be a reason why u couldn't get into S&S. Like I couldnt get into One Day at a Time because it was centered around a mother and her teenage daughters

No I'm not a female I just couldent get into s&s that's all. I mean some episodes were funny to me but not enough to get into it. I guess one of the main reasons why I got bored of it is because of tvland.

I can understand that with the characters all being of the same sex as i dont like sitcoms like two and a half men,i just dont like that show at all.

Tried as I might, I just couldn't get into these two shows. Plus there were other shows on at the time that I watched instead.

MASH and Barney Miller. Alan Alda and Hal Linden rubbed me the wrong way and couldn't get into their shows.

M*A*S*H never held my interest. The Waltons was certainly a solid family show but I never really got into it.

Definitely All in the Family. I just don't know why I couldn't get into it, yet it was the number 1 show 5 years straight. I guess because every storyline was very similar to each other, and that almost every scene took place in their living room.

I gave Barney Miller Two chances, on TV LAND and Comcast and still no SPARKS

MASH was okay but I just never got the love everyone felt for it. It was fine until Rogers and Stevenson left but not after that.

The Waltons - too rural and never interested me.

The only sitcoms from the 70's that I really like are The Brady Bunch and All In The Family. Welcome Back Kotter was alright in the beginning but it got stale after a couple seasons. One Day At A Time is OK, but I wouldn't rush out to the store and buy the DVD. I used to have the hots for Bonnie Franklin when the show was originally on CBS. One non-sitcom from the 70's that I also enjoy a lot is Emergency! Most sitcoms from the 70's are not that good.

Many sitcoms from the 50's are dated and not that watchable anymore. I enjoy Amos N Andy, The Honeymooners and Leave It To Beaver. I Love Lucy is very much overrated.

Most of the classic sitcoms are from the 60's. There were a lot of great shows on during that decade, too many to mention but the best ones are still funny and very watchable today.

Now MTM is another show from the 70's I would be willing to give a chance if picked up by TV Land

The 70's was a good decade for detective shows. Most of the sitcoms fell short in the laughs department.

Agreed. MASH might be thought provoking but it just seems depressing to me and I've tried to give MTM a chance and I just find it very very boring.

Couldn't get into Maude or Rhoda. Loved All in the Family and Mary Tyler Moore, where both of the shows came from, but never got into those two spinoffs.
