LOL. Damm, the show should have just ended right after 1985. I dont why ABC felt this show at that point in Time would be better than Three's a Crowd

The New Set was atrocious, the theme song was totally 80's and no Kimberly and more Maggie and Sam killed this show.

1) Willis' Gerry Curl

Loved It!

2) The New Set

Loved It!
3) Alan Thicke's version to the song/electronic synthesizer

Loved it!

It was time for a makeover. Willis did need to update that afro. 1978 was gone. They needed a new set and 1985 was a time for change. The affliated shows like "Silver Spoons" and "Facts of Life" got makeovers as well. I still liked the old formats but am glad that there were changes made. Other shows like "The Love Boat " changed up some things as well.

Sorry guys, I beg to differ on this one.

What are your thoughts on less Kimberly?

This is kinda sad because I actually liked Kimberly in this season because she was seen more than the previous season. She was in two eps in the prior season and did four eps this season. Willis was probably in a handful himself for this season. I loved the changes but the fire was gone from the show. It was dead. There was a budget cut and not everyone was appearing in the same eps with others. Ep appearances were limited. It would have been better had they gave Dana a few more eps to match the number of eps that everyone else was appearing in. I think that Gary had the most airtime out of everyone.

That new set didn't work for me either.

I liked Kimberly (I ALWAYS thought she should have had more to do!)

Sam was god aweful. So was Maggie #2.

Obviously Gary would get the most screen time...even though he wasn't too happy about it.

I would have liked more Kimberly too.

And could they have made a more crappy last episode?

That steroids episode was not meant to be a finale for the series. Like some of the shows at the time, they probably assumed that they would be back for another run and then just got a "oh by the way" notice that the show would be canceled.

I know it wasn't supposed to be the finale for the series. It had no closure what's so ever...They should have been on the safe side, and made a proper finale for the series, since they knew they might not return for a 9th season...I guess they didn't think about being "safe" in those days.

How do u make a series finale JUST IN CASE the show isn't renewed??-lol So if it is renewed then what?

Buffy did it for 6 years. American Dreams, Everwood, Reba, What I Like About You, Full House, Family Matters, and Step By Step have all done it (when they weren't sure if they would definately be returning the following season)....It's not a series finale per say, but the episode does give you some kind of closure to the series. I'm sure other shows have done this.

And if they find out they were renewed, the producers and writers would just work from where they left off (of course, not all storylines would have been wrapped up the previous season. And there's always more stories a show can tell, even once they're finshed).

The Jeri Curl came with the time (1985) The set was an improvement, and I liked the new theme song, but I miissed the old one. Maybe NBC had the rights to the old one and ABC couldn't use it.

But, like most people I hate the fact that it was too much Sam and Maggie and not enough Willis. One thing about season 8 is that whenever they showed Willis, he was always walking out of the room or passing through. That's how his role was in this horrible season.

Willis was just looking too much like Micheal Jackson-lol

Season 8 should have never been. They should have just called it quits when NBC canceled it. Some shows go on too long.

Well, Maggie is not "too much" like she was in the 7th season. Sam is really too much.

I think the season 7 was an error too. According to the Behind the Camera unauthorized story, season 6 was the first to have serious audience troubles. Maybe producers should have planned about a true series finale with the Drummond's wedding episode.

Maggie and Sam were still on, and a different actress played Maggie. I kinda hated to see Kimberly not on anymore.

We should have known that Willis was a Michael Jackson wannabe from the start. It's not that hard to figure that he already morph into MJ in Season 3. Later on, Willis becomes bald and throws away his Gheri curls out the window to star in Dancing With The Stars. There was Madonna wannabes, but there were MJ wannabes like Willis and Carlton. **twilight zone music cues in**

When a series regular, who's an original cast member from day one, gets passed over in favor of a couple of add-on characters, something's wrong.:(

I guess they should have just spinned Willis off since they felt he was too old and wanted to focus on Arnold and Sam

They should had ended the series with Drummond's wedding. Season 7 & 8 were not good. You can see the show going down the season that Drummond got married.

Mr. Drummond rubbed me the wrong way too in the final seasons. He was so into Sam and Maggie, he didn't seem like he cared for Arnold and Willis anymore. Then again, a lot of people change once they get married.
