I'm convinced that a former member here died. He wouldn't leave without saying good-bye to me. He was posting one day, then he just vanished. I've told my husband that if I died suddenly, to e:mail TJ and Brian D. Then you guys can hold an online funeral service for me, lol.

I kinda in a joking way told my girls that I should leave them my password and contact certain persons who then can tell the boards I visit what happened to me. :eek: GOD THAT SOUNDS SO MORBID. But it does make me wonder when I no longer see people online.

And neither of you are alone. I've often thought that myself. And especially when I got so busy there that I couldn't be on for months at a stretch. I don't think I could get Frank to do it - hell, I can't get him to discuss a will, organ donation or anything else to do with death. I'm a HUGE planner tho - just because you put things in order doesn't mean it's going to happen.

That's why I get nervous when I don't see people anymore. I know Moofomoo was dealing with a lot of health issues. But I also know she wanted to work for disney as an animator and try to reanimate some of the magic she felt was lost. I think about her often.

Where the heck is Brad; that is one member that I miss the most; not only was he one of my favorite members of this board, but he was a favorite person. I miss him, terribly; and I also hope, that he is okay I miss not chatting with him and his kindness; one, of the sweetest person(s) I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

I agree Brad is a pretty nice guy, If I remember correctly last I heard he was in the early stages of dating someone. One can understand where his priorities may shift, he'll be back in time.

I'm with you on that one Tara. I miss Brad very much. We talked on the phone three or four times....once for over three hours, lol. He posted on his birthday thread in August that he's in Love Land. As you know, he was in love with a woman who was a friend. She finally smartened up, and fell in love with him in return! As much as I miss Brad, the fact that he's not around anymore tells me that he's happy and off living his life.
A couple of weeks ago, one of the young adult members sent me a PM and told me that they wouldn't be around much because of a grueling college course, and other commitments. This person felt bad about it, I told this person that as much as I would miss them, that if I never hear another word from them again, it means they've moved on and are making something of themselves.
I see a lot of our young members are in college or working jobs, and they don't come around as much, or at all anymore. I miss them, but it's to be expected. I think it's sad to see young adults living their lives online. Often, they get alienated from the world. There's a balance to be found between online and offline life.

I agree with that statement. When I was a bit younger, I went to school, dated and had fun with friends. I wasn't behind a computer all day wasting my teen years. Sadly, the internet has replaced actually socializing and acts as a buffer to going out. It is pretty sad.

It's true. They couldn't find me with a search party when I was a teen and in my 20s. I met my husband when I was 25, but before that, I was having an absolute blast. I'm online now, but I worked for 25 years, I'm in a 25-year marriage. I had my own apartment when I was 21 years old. I'm a stepmother to four, step-Nana to eight. I LIVED. With health issues now or whatever, but still, I don't live online.
I know someone personally who's 24 years old. She got into the Internet way back. I don't think this girl has a single friend offline. She rarely goes out. She lives with her parents, and unless she meets someone online, I don't see marriage and children in her future. This girl has WASTED away her teen years, and she's doing the same thing with her 20s. Her entire life is one big Cyberworld.

My laptop's off for repairs this week, so I'm only online whenever I'm near a computer (At the moment I'm holed up in the library computer lab waiting for things to open so I can get a flat tire fixed (go to Wal-Mart to pick up a few things, get a flat).

I can honestly say I've probably had more fun without that computer this week than I have in quite some time. And I've found that the things that kept me tied online by and large all day in the past - I can usually knock those out in a couple of 30 minute blasts per day. And for the first time, I'm starting to get to know my roommate a little bit, and he's not a bad guy (I usually wind up at war with roommates over things, so this is a huge step forward).

With what Janice was mentioning earlier in the thread, it kind of seemed...relevant.

I wish she would post more. I miss her too. :(

I miss those arguments/long conversations I used to have with Kristina (super obsessed Avril fan,) Mr Stefani and Sarah. Vashti was an interesting fellow. And I didn't know Dean Winchester was BuffySlayer. I think he's back.

I miss most people from the SBTB board. It seems like most of them left after Barbara started her own message board over at SBTB: Now. I don't blame them, the board is much more active over there.

You know, I don't even know. She disappeared off the face of the earth so for all I know, she could still be living in New York (state).

Her SO profile shows her last activity being in March of 2007. I have her as a friend on LJ, and the last time she updated her journal was in August of 2007, saying she really needed to sort out her life. So, that's all I know. I think about her a lot... she was one cool chick.

I have been posting irregularly for the past year so I am wondering if anybody knows where Karli(Kay Scarpetta) is? Has she been here at all lately? I really miss her! She registered here 1 day after I did in 2001 when she was only 12 years old. She was a delight and very bright for someone so young!
Are there any members whom you miss? There are others I miss besides Karli but she was always kind of special to me!:wave:

Yeah I remember that! That was quite a while ago. She must be in her 20's now and maybe in college. Maybe I will PM her to see how she's doing.:)
