View Full Version : Wasn't Arnold a Little OLD to be Laughing at someone with Epilepsy?
TVFactFan 05-26-2007, 06:58 PM The ep in season 7 when sam and arnold were friends with a street performer and they were cracking jokes about her seizure. Arnold was in High School in season 7 and this ep made Arnold look ******** for joking about something so serious. I turned it off right after I saw that scene, very stupid to put IN THE SCRIPT
Ireneparalegal 05-26-2007, 07:03 PM I agree. Knowing Arnold, he shouldn't have been doing that. However, there are high school aged kids who behave (or misbehave) just like little kids. Age has nothing to do with maturity. But as far as Arnold, yep, so true, he was not the type of person to have been doing that. It was not in his nature.

And I didn't even criticize Sam because he was just following Arnold. Which led to them finding out Pearl had Epilepsy

So true.
Sam is younger, but he was not brought up that way. It was not in his nature either to behave that way.
Pearl having Epilepsy reminds me of Booker from Good Times who seemed to have everything that everyone else had: Lung cancer, he was adopted, etc.
Brian Damage 05-26-2007, 08:00 PM What did you expect from Arnold? It wasn't like the kid was dating. lol

Like the ones who played J.J. Evans' girlfriends.
or
Girls that are desperate to be seen on that show.

True, but Jimmie Walker in real life had a gorgeous wife. Arnol...I mean Gary Coleman is still a virgin to this day. At least he claims to be.
TVFactFan 05-26-2007, 09:36 PM Was that the episode where Dudley bumps into them?
Yup that's the one, they played a clip of it on Star Dates
Brian Damage 05-26-2007, 09:37 PM The only time I saw Arnold kiss a girl was in the final season when he kissed Lisa.
TVFactFan 05-26-2007, 09:40 PM The only time I saw Arnold kiss a girl was in the final season when he kissed Lisa.
He should have been trying to take lisa on a date instead of ARGUING with her-lol
Brian Damage 05-26-2007, 09:41 PM He should have been trying to take lisa on a date instead of ARGUING with her-lol
It took him to be locked up in a closet with her, for him to finally kiss her. LOL
TVFactFan 05-26-2007, 09:43 PM It took him to be locked up in a closet with her, for him to finally kiss her. LOL
Then when the door opens he goes back to FIGHTING with her again-lol

Just watched the ep again, and they both realized that a relayionship wouldn't work because they had nothing in common. When trying to decide where to go on a Saturday Night, Arnold wanted to hang out at the Burger Joint and Lisa liked going to the Opera and that's when they decided to forget anything-lol

Yeah Lisa wasn't a normal teenager either-lol But a normal teenage boy would have PRETNDED to be interested if the Girl was pretty enough-lol

Exactly! Arnold acted as if he was on a date everyday!

Actually, Arnold was in the eighth grade when that situation took place. However, he was 14. So you may have a point to what you are saying. Maybe Arnold was just naive about the matter. I remember seeing this on NBC back in 85'. To me, it looked like he did not know that it was a serious thing. I thought that he thought that Karen was joking.
Natalie1969 06-01-2011, 03:48 PM Kids that age can be cruel.
dummytree 06-17-2011, 08:32 PM Even more shocking : the quality (or lack of) of the act the street performer puts on. LOL

I think that it was only in his script to do that. :)
