Happy Memorial Day Weekend Everyone! I don't have much going on, as I'm a bit under the weather, but we'll grill some steaks, just me and my honey.

This is my last weekend of freedom before school starts Tuesday so i'll be enjoying it. Tomorrow i'll be at the beach in the nice 89 degree weather baking in the sun with some friends. Hopefully its not too crowded.

I haven't posted here in a couple of days because I have been super busy, but I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Saturday!!! It's now 6:33 a.m. Yeah, I woke up especially early today because I have so much to do!!

An aunt of mine is making a baby shower party for my Mexican cousin who's due in early June with her baby girl. I am going to be making a macaroni salad this morning, and I will be cleaning up my apartment too. I have to have this macaroni salad completed this morning so I can take with me to work. I will only be working for 1.5 hours and taking the rest of the afternoon off so that I can attend the baby shower and play all the baby shower games. They are always fun!!! :D The baby shower begins at 2 p.m.

Not sure what I will do this evening, but if the baby shower is still going until later in the evening, then I will stick around. If not, I will maybe hang out with some friends.

Holy crap it is hot here in NYC. What a miserable night. My apartment is like a sauna in the summer. Of course my room A/C died at the end of last summer so I'll have to suffer for a bit until I can scrape up some money to buy a new one.

This morning I'm taking a quick trip to NJ to visit the folks for lunch and pick up some paperwork for my unemployment. Then I'll be back in the city before nightfall.

Tonight? Gaf.

Janice, I really have been praying for you to get better. It just isn't the same without you at 100%.

Today, I am taking my oldest daughter to a Japanese Steak House. It is a reward for her doing so well in school this year. The rest of the weekend, I am working. It is time to bring home the bacon. LOL

Come to my neck of the woods, then. It's only 37 degrees as I type this, and they're forecasting the high to be 50 degrees. I can't even remember when I last wore shorts, it's been too $@%&! cold for that here.

Anyway, me? I MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT be staying over at my guy friend's place, starting today... if it's not doable, well, I'm staying in and watching movies on my shiny new portable DVD player. Just got Hook and Jumanji on DVD - two terrific movies I saw when they were in theaters - '91 and '95, respectively. So I'll be watching these on my player. :)

Didn't know you were sick Janice. No wonder it seems like you haven't been around here lately. I hope you get to feeling better. I know your other pain is one thing, but being ill on top of that can be terrible.

Thanks Irene. Yeah, lucky me, battling not one, but two, chronic and painful illnesses, fortunately not life-threatening. I swear the side effects from some of these medications make people sicker. Since Tuesday, I've been taking two very strong antibiotics. One is used to treat malaria, the other for anthrax.

I've been mostly in bed since Wednesday, sick as can be. Extreme fatique, nausea, headache, dizzy, etc. I have zero appetite. I'm drinking those Ensure drinks that they serve in nursing homes, so I won't get malnourished. My husband is doing everything. He's my own personal Angel. I'll be okay. It's just going to take some time.

Wow!!! reading the meds and what they are used for...:faint: sounds like a story right out of Little House on the Prairie. Oh gosh, I really hope all is well soon. Sounds terrible, so I can only imagine what you must be going through. My thoughts are with you and thank God for your man.

Well, I'm done working for the weekend and now I have Sunday and Monday off. I'm not sure what's planned.

And, damn, was it hard to work with my crush today :( Knowing how much I like him...yet I can't have him. Damned painful indeed :crying:

Well, yesterday, I went for a walk, planted some flowers.

Today, I planted some more flowers by the back door and filled the car.

Tomorrow, there is a small cookout at my house. That should be nice.

Well, today turned out to be a better day than yesterday. I took a ride out East with my grandma and grandpa (not my biological grandpa, but she's been with him so long that I consider him one). We stopped in Greenport to visit my brother, then did some shopping at a gift shop and farm stand.

It's so beautiful out East with all the vineyards and farmland...I don't get to see a lot of nature out near my house, so it was great to experience a little today :) It made me super relaxed

Now I'm about to go out with three of my friends to go see Shrek 3, then we're heading back to one of their houses for a little cook-out :)

We went to Red Lobster for dinner. It's been a few years since we've been there. Dinner was really good, however, I got carried away with the biscuits. The biscuits should be illegal. They taste too good. I'm paying for it now with a stomach ache. I had a salad, fried shrimp and a baked potato for dinner.
Mmmmm....those biscuits sound devine! I have never been to a Red Lobster, but I wanna eat there sometime. I've heard so many good things about their food. :D

I stayed at my aunt's house yesterday afternoon and all evening long for my Mexican cousin's baby shower. She is due on the 3rd of June which is only a matter of days away! I asked if she is feeling tired yet, and she said she feels like normal. Nothing changing inside her body yet to alert her of going into labor very soon. Everyone says she looks so relaxed for being in her eighth month of pregnancy!

One of my mom's Columbian neighbors invited my mom and me for breakfast at a reastaurant. After that, I invited both my mom and her Columbian neighbor to a movie at the dollar theatre. We saw "Are We Done Yet?" OMG!! It is sooooo funny! We laughed so hard!!! I recommend it for a good laugh! My mom and I translated in Spanish for the neighbor since she virtually understands no English.

Later this evening, one of my maternal aunts is having a birthday dinner for both her daughter (my 17-year-old cousin) and another maternal aunt who both share the same birthdate. I had the motivation to attend yesterday, but today I don't have the motivation. I just wanna relax at home because I have hardly had a chance to really relax this weekend. I plan on walking around the track for about 2-3 miles this evening for exercise. Yeah, that's what I think I will do....

It's so hot outside! Right now I just plan on eating some fresh fruit and make myself a strawberry shortcake and a fruit smoothie. Yum! :liplick:

If you ever get a chance to go to Red Lobster the biscuits are so worth the trip. The fried shrimp are really good. They used to have Lemon Pepper Shrimp that was very good.
Mmmmm....yeah, they really look so damned tasty upclose and personal.

Did you get my last PM from last week? I am just curious because I have not heard any response from you. Is everything okay now? ;)

I like all kinds of comedy, and this movie isn't so bad. It's actually quite entertaining.
