Rosie Takes Early Leave From 'The View'
O'Donnell Was Due To Leave Show In Mid-June

NEW YORK -- Rosie O'Donnell has fought her last fight at "The View."

ABC said Friday she won't be back on the show following her angry confrontation with co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck on Wednesday.

O'Donnell asked for, and received, an early exit from her contract. She was due to leave "The View" in mid-June.

"Rosie contributed to one of our most exciting and successful years at 'The View,"' show creator Barbara Walters said. "I am most appreciative. Our close and affectionate relationship will not change."

In a statement, O'Donnell said she was grateful. "It's been an amazing year, and I love all three women."

Presumably, that includes Hasselbeck. The two exchanged bitter words on Wednesday over O'Donnell's opposition to the war in Iraq. They've frequently had snippy political exchanges during O'Donnell's year on the daytime chatfest, but never as long and loud as that one.

 bye bye...

Looks like THE MOUTH THAT ROARED can dish it out, but can't take it. I don't even watch the show, but I'm sick of her...even though I love my new avatar.

Glad to see that nutbag is gone. I don't watch the show, either, but she insulted people for the last time on that show.

There are reports that Rosie threw a fit after that debate with Liz and she trashed Liz's dressing room after the show. Pure class act, Nosey... I mean Rosie.

I read in The Stranger magazine in Seattle that one author thought that Rosie's name sounded like a drunken Irish sexual euphemism: "I'll bloody hafta knock ya in the Rosie O'Donnell if I hear a bloomin' peep out of yer agin!"

I love Sheri. She is so darn cute and has a great personality. Put her along with a whole new cast of ladies and FOR SURE, THAT WOULD BE A SHOW I WOULD WATCH.

I have no idea the fascination with the View, before and after Rosie. I have always disliked Elizabeth Hasselback. When she was on Survivor, she was annoying and not very bright. Had she been bright, she would have known how to play and win the game.

I know.   Who is that bastard to talk? He is an adulterer, a liar, an exaggerater, he has made a mockery of marriage, he puts women down based on how they look and made himself look stupid night after night talking smack abt Rosie.

You know, I will give Elizabeth kudos for speaking up, however, she got so damn emotional. It looked like she was going to bust out crying at any moment. When you are trying to get a point across, you can't let emotions get over on you like that. If two crazy ladies are shouting and interrupting you while you are trying to speak, then allow them to look stupid and don't try to get a word in. Sheri was the only one on that panel who didn't look or sound so damn stupid.

I think it's high time that Elisabeth got emotional, and she most certainly didn't look or sound damn stupid. She made a whole lot of sense to me. Why should she have to defend Rosie's remarks? People often get emotional when discussing hot topics. From all I've read and the clips I've seen since Rosie took over, all I see is Rosie streamrolling over Elisabeth. Is she just supposed to sit there and not get a word in edgewise? Rosie's a fanatical bully with radical beliefs. Elisabeth is not.

Elisabeth now has the distinction of taking the bully down. Finally, someone put Rosie in her place. Looks like Rosie couldn't handle it.

I never said she had to defend Rosie's remarks. Elilzabeth should not have had to even respond to that. This all started because of that list Joy read off. Joy knew damn well what she was doing when she read that list. Joy is just sitting there watching these two go at it. What other purpose did she have in reading that list? I didn't realize the View was a political show. I thought it was a daytime show abt different views on various matters. I think Joy set this whole thing up somehow. She seemed to get a "JOY" out of the whole thing, grinning, laughing and interrupting. Notice, Joy never looked at Elizabeth while she was interrupting Elizabeth or practically screaming over her words. Why couldn't Joy look at Elizabeth in the face while talking? Because she didn't care what she had to say. It was a big time set up.

That's not how I see it. Joy reading that list, whatever on that. It was when RO was trying to corner EH into defending her. Even when EH tried to tell her that she didn't think RO was slamming our troops, RO went on, or tried to go on the attack...not a good friend, coward, etc. EH gave it to her with both barrels, right between the eyes. RO never know what hit her. To me, Joy was just an annoyance. It was between RO and EH.

But that whole terrorists and troops subject came abt after Joy read that list. I know that the subject of the troops being terrorists was from another argument from another day, but it seemed to get ignited after Joy started on that list.

I guess, but from the way RO started grilling EH, you just know it was on her mind. She would have found a way to work it in, Joy or not. RO was stung from the criticism of her remarks the week before, and she wanted EH to clarify it for her. EH wasn't taking the bait. RO, like most bullies, is thin-skinned. She got in a snit because Walters didn't or took too long to come to her defense during the Trump feud. For someone with a machine gun mouth, her widdle feelings get hurt awfully easily, lol.

That is why I said, it just seems like a set-up somehow. If it wasn't, then it wasn't. But not being a viewer of the show, I have to go based on what I read here on the boards and the television reports. It seemed to me that as soon as Joy started reading that list, the fire in Elizabeth's eyes was obvious. You could read the body language and it just seemed to ignite that whole thing. Rosie had an agenda and what better way to get your point across than to have your back-up (Joy) read a list of the reasons why Bush should be out of office right now. Too coincidental?  Sorry to be stuck on that "list" issue, but I can't help but see that stirred up the whole argument.
