AMERICANLIFE TV NETWORK REACHES

AGREEMENT WITH TWENTIETH TELEVISION FOR TELEVISION PROGRAMMING

‘ Hill Street Blues,’ ‘WKRP in Cincinnati ,’ ‘ L.A. Law’ and

‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show’ Among Programs to be Added to

Network’s Primetime Line-Up

WASHINGTON, DC/LOS ANGELES – AmericanLife TV Network SM, the only independent network devoted to the Baby Boomer generation, has reached a long-term agreement with Twentieth Television for a library of classic television series. The announcement was jointly made today by Mark Ringwald, VP of Programming for AmericanLife TV and Steve MacDonald, EVP, General Manager, Basic Cable for Twentieth Television.

Among the acquired shows:

Batman
Hill Street Blues
L.A. Law
Lost in Space
The Mary Tyler Moore Show
Newhart
St. Elsewhere
WKRP in Cincinnati

Regarding the announcement, Ringwald stated: “These are great series, with favorite characters for which we still have an emotional connection and stories that pull us in and make us laugh or touch our heart. Our primetime programming blocks remain a destination for boomers and their families to watch high-quality programming together, reconnecting with classic television stars, as well as with today’s current names in earlier roles.”

“This partnership with AmericanLife TV offers a sensational platform for viewers to both embrace and experience again some of television’s most applauded programs,” added Twentieth Television’s MacDonald.

Hill Street Blues, St. Elsewhere and L.A. Law will debut in June in an all-new Sunday primetime schedule starting June 3. The other programs will be airing in varying time slots later this year.

I'm equally excited about Sundays:
Hill Street Blues
St. Elsewhere
LA Law

THAT'S got me excited.

Of course, I'm probably losing the channel in a couple weeks (moving, probably getting satellite), so this stinks.

Looks like I'll be able to get the channel once I get rid of Directv and switch to a Free to Air receiver. :)

So by July every show that is listed in the press release will air but Batman and Lost in Space. The shows listed in the press release is NOT a full list. So, hopefully we get more shows to air! May I hint Mr. Belvedere and Small Wonder AmericanLife??

I'm glad my cable provider recently brought this channel back, because this lineup sounds terrific.

Finally, a cable network airing GOOD shows. All they need to do is add Barney Miller and Bewitched to their lineup and they'd be all set. ;)

Newhart? Mary Tyler Moore?! WKR-freakin'-P in Cincinnati?!? How awesome. I would love to see L.A. Law again. Haven't seen that in years.

I REALLY wish I had this channel. TVLand needs to start taking some serious notes from these people. Fast.

Great to see American Life improve its library of shows. Now if it could only get picked up by more providers.

I have to agree. Where is Newhart on DVD? That kind of surprises me. Not to mention L.A. Law ... I miss that show.

This is great news, especially since I can now fill the void of no season 5-7 of MTM on DVD ... the is until the studio decides to release that and Bob Newhart Show's remaining seasons. And hopefully Newhart will get a release ... someday.

As long as the Color Honeymooners don't go away I'll be happy!

Damn, I miss ALTV. We got rid of digital cable back in November and then the cable people got rid of ALTV in April, so there's no chance of me seeing it again in the near future.

Nice to see that they are starting to put on some more popular shows. It seems like only yesterday when the most popular shows on the channel were "One Big Family," "The New Dick Van Dyke Show," and "Apple's Way." Not to mention the fact that I happened to enjoy those shows, lol...

That is very exciting, too bad I don't get the channel :(

And "Newhart" should be on DVD, but can they please finish "The Bob Newhart Show" first? They were churning those out so fast and now they have stalled with just 2 seasons to go

This is great news in regard to American Life TV picking up some of the MTM library of shows from Fox. This could just maybe spike the sales of some of the MTM programs like Mary Tyler Moore and The Bob Newhart Show on DVD and maybe we would finally be able to see the release of the remaining seasons of these shows on DVD. It is to bad though that American Life Television is not available on a lot of basic cable lineups and on the two major satellite providers

Good job, very informative....may I ask if you know why most cable compaines are so reluctant to carry this channel? They've got it down pat. DirecTV is so good at adding new channels but for some reason they won't add this one.

Thanks. I'll get in touch with Dtv tomorrow.

You know, with TV Land becoming the baby boomer 'hodgepodge' that it looks to be, if ALTV really wanted to increase its audience and fill a void they should greatly cut back on the lifestyle programs and put more classic sitcoms and dramas on during the day, afternoons and in prime time. That would probably attract baby boomers and some younger viewers as well. And maybe air the original lifestyle programs early in the morning and sporadically at special times. Just my ideas.
