View Full Version : Should there be NEW RULES for chatting on TV message Boards? I think so
TVFactFan 05-23-2007, 10:26 AM Moderators of TV message board or TJ please can you try to set some kind of guidelines for the TV boards so that the TV discussions can be more enjoyable. One of the main rules should be-Please don;t make statements like-"IT was in the Script" or "Explain why you feel the way you do" instead of just saying-"I agree" or me too" I think that would make the TV boards a whole lot better and the discussion would have a nice flow to them.
Brian Damage 05-23-2007, 10:31 AM I agree ;) :p
TVFactFan 05-23-2007, 10:32 AM I agree ;) :p
If i had that "IT WAS IN THE SCRIPT statement one more time I will politely ask TJ to banned them from the TV boards. How can anyone eb that stupid to say-"IT WAS IN THE SCRIPT". I never forget, Irene went crazy when someone said that

I agree with that, you are trying to analyze a specific episode and someone says that. It can be irritating. Did somebody do it recently?
TVFactFan 05-23-2007, 10:37 AM I agree with that, you are trying to analyze a specific episode and someone says that. It can be irritating. Did somebody do it recently?
Yeah on the Good Times Board, I was asking a question and the person really thought I wanted an answer to my question and had no idea the question was posted for conversation-lol
Brieannas21 05-23-2007, 11:07 AM That rule would stink.
TVFactFan 05-23-2007, 11:19 AM That rule would stink.
why?-lol You have no interest in being involved in a TV discussion where everyone is expressing why they feel they way they do???????????????????????????????????????
Holly 05-23-2007, 11:42 AM WOW Drama...

Rule #2-Never state-"I agree" without saying in full detail why you feel the way you do-LOL
Ireneparalegal 05-23-2007, 02:07 PM Rule #2-Never state-"I agree" without saying in full detail why you feel the way you do-LOL
Gotcha! Should I state why I "gotcha"? ;)
I totally forgot abt that thread I made where I went off. Good memory Solomon. I remember making POSTS and getting somewhat irritated with that IT'S IN THE SCRIPT jazz, but I had had it up to my ears with it, so I decided to make a thread. Thanks for the memories Solomon!
TripperFan 05-23-2007, 02:54 PM
I just got a visual of Solomon on his wedding day and when it gets to the part when she says, "I DO", Sol goes bananas......WHY do you? For how long?
I predict the ceremony to run approx. 2 hrs for a City Hall do - longer if it's in a church!
(I'm just yankin' yer chain there buddy).
Max Whittaker 05-23-2007, 03:01 PM I don't think I get it.
In any case, I'm against any "rule" that limits what a person can say, as long as it's in good taste. What you seem to be talking about are things that annoy you. Which is all well and good. LOL annoys me. TTYL annoys. But I wouldn't campaign for the banning of it.
As long as someone isn't insulting your humanity, I see no problem with saying anything. "It's in the script" may be annoying, but it's better than "It's in the script dumbass"
Do you see what I'm saying?

Mr. Stefani 05-23-2007, 03:05 PM there should also be another rule -TVResearcher/TheAnalyzer/Solomon should stop telling TJ how to run his site

No, using in the script is NEVER ACCEPTABLE on a TV Board. NEVER!!!!!

It's called Suggestions, Not Demands
Ireneparalegal 05-23-2007, 05:44 PM I agree with Solomon for the fact that if you come to a board to ask questions abt a sitcom or drama and you find inconsistencies with them, it is fun to share these thoughts, questions and/or opinions on the shows. I said it once before...it's like we are CORONERS OF TV SHOWS;) ...we splice and dice and cut up the show, the characters, the plots, the inconsistencies, etc. It's great to share them with a group of people who also enjoy the shows or dislike the shows.
I don't agree that one should be BANNED from the site, but I do like pointing out to them that I don't accept IT'S IN THE SCRIPT or IT'S JUST A TV SHOW as an explanation. If you can't handle that, then you should not be part of a tv show board. Stick with chit/chat.
We know that tv isn't real, we know that the characters aren't real...geez.

Not banned from the Site, TJ can create a new feature that will not allow them access to the TV section-lol
Sterling Holobyte 05-23-2007, 06:03 PM Me-thinks that would be kind of a hard policy to enforce. And a waste of time to try.

The Sports Board II'm a member of doesn't allow you to say things like
I agree
Exactly
Me too
LOL
The Administrator banned me for 2 days because he felt those type of replies was bringing down the Quality of the Board. So I had to come back with a different approach

But why would you do exactly the very thing on that board that you don't want anyone to do here?

Same here. If a person wants to just say I agree, then they can. It's not like they're all, I agree, you ****ing worthless ****** piece of ****. Not everyone is going to go into huge detail and write paragraphs on a TV show or episode. Even just for "conversation."
First Amendment.

Wow. That's incredible! I'd never stay registered to a site that treats it's members like that. I'm all for following rules. I like rules. They keep the peace.
That which you describe there, is too strict and seriously meaningless. What's the point? It doesn't hurt anyone to say "I agree". Wow!
Mr. Television 05-24-2007, 02:37 AM I agree with you Solomon.
The worst is the comment It's in the script. Why even post the obvious. It just makes you look stupid.

Because I agree doesn't give any FLOW to a interesting TV topic.
