I am confused about Jackie's real name. In official cast listings she is shown as "Marjorie 'Jackie' Harris." I thought she referred to herself as "Jacqueline." Wasn't that on her answering machine when Becky was staying with her?

Then there was the episode when Jackie was in the hospital and Bev told her she had a different name on her birth certificate. I can't remember what that name was. "Marjorie?" Maybe Jackie thought her name was "Jacqueline" in the earlier episodes, and found out from Bev she was really "Marjorie" later.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

I think you're right, as far as she knew her name was Jackie, so she was probably just having some fun and extending her name like that.

Jackie did always believe that her real first name was Jackie/Jacqueline, but when she was in the hospital to give birth to Andy, Bev (her mother) told her (Jackie) that her real name is Marjorie and that she thinks it might still be on her birth certificate.

Bev said she changed her name to Jackie because Roseanne couldn't pronounce Marjorie. She kept calling "Marjorie/Jackie" MY JACKIE, so Bev started calling Marjorie Jackie. Silly and confusing, huh? :crazy: :cool: :rolleyes:
