It was common for Lucy to wear her famous red hair up, almost bun-like. We did see scenes where she had it down. My fave is when she pretends to be Tallulah Bankhead. Her hair is so long and beautiful. I wish I could see that scene or at least a pic of that scene in color.

Ethel at times had her hair real short, cropped real close to her head, really what it was, she had real tight curls. I really like her hair when she was in Connecticut. It was much longer and had a real soft curl to it.

That famous do she wore where it made her look like Grace Kelly made her look younger, at least to me it did.

What are your thoughts on the hairstyles?

I always felt that Ethel's hairstyle suited her better than Lucy's. I cant picture Vivian Vance with longish hair at all.

I always thought Ethel's hair looked more natural and Lucy's was kind of frizzy and too complicated. Lucy really looked beautiful in the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour when they went to Japan. If you watch the scene when Lucy and Ethel go into the Geisha house you'll see what I mean. Her hair was cut short, similar to the style she wore for the rest of her life.

I loved Ethel's hair when she wore it long but not too long. I didn't like it too short.

I think this do looks cute on her:

And I loved when Lucy wore her hair down but pinned up the sides:
